Welcome! Friendly warning, if you have the CVT transmission (automatic) the fluid & filters should be changed at least every 50,000 miles. If it hasn't been done, or if you don't know then get around to it pronto! The recommendation in the owners manual is way too late. Mine didn't even make it that far so I learned that lesson the hard way. Take care of your Patriot and it will take care of you. I hope you love yours as much as I love mine -- I'm on my second Patriot.

I was referring to the transmission fluid, not the oil changes, but oil changes are important too. The transmission is easily and often overlooked.

Jeepgirl07 if you have an automatic transmission, but you're not sure if it's CVT or 6 speed AT, you can use the VIN of your Patriot to get a build sheet will have that info and a lot more:

I actually have a manual transmission. But I will stay on top of the maintenance none the less.

 

We can both breathe a little easier.
I loved the performance of my CVT but it failed rather early. I've got a manual now and no problems (140,000 miles).

 

I have the stations Preset now also thanks !

 

That does make me breathe easier 😅
