I have a continuing issue with my Patriot - - it only runs about 8 miles before the ETB light comes on and then the engine limiter comes on. If it is colder, I may get a couple of miles more, hotter and it runs less.

Codes: P2135, P0121 & P0221.
Replaced: Electronic Throttle body (2x), computer and the gas peddle with sensor. No change.

Someone told me that its a fuel pump issue. Has anyone heard this before?

Sorry to hear you've already thrown parts at the issue without success. All of those codes are related to voltage issues and my first thought is to check and/or repair the underhood grounds first. There is a large cluster of ground right near the battery and you can have corrosion inside the wire bundle clamped by the ring terminal. Many issues can crop up due to these grounds going bad and not passing the required current. You can find a few posts on repairing these by searching on the forum for g110 and g112 grounds.

I had different symptoms, but I agree the BBB (Bundle Beneath the Battery) is suspect. In my case the wires were corroded and I had to have the wiring harness replaced. It was expensive -- $1200 at the dealer -- but I got several more years and another 70,000 miles out of my Patriot without significant problems, so it was well worth the repair.

Replacing the wiring harness was the dealer's next step ($1500). I was going to go ahead with the wiring harness, but wanted to be sure before I sank even more money. Weird how it seems to be temperature related though. Today was 68 degrees, the red lighting bolt came on, but it drove OK for 5 miles.

Thanks for the input.

Temps do strange things to vehicles. My cruise control works fine below 50F, but not at all in the summer. It's been that way for several years now.

Just add a bit more detail. I put a reader on it when the red bolt and traction light went on and:

P2173, P0121, P0221, P0123, P0222, P2135
MAP 63
Spark Adv -5
TP 1002
Evap_VP (Pa) -16174
Volts 14.36
The O2 sensor showed an odd code

Does this still show a harness/corrosion issue?

Thanks
