2009 2.0 FWD Pat just turned 220,000 miles. Original motor and CVT trans running fine. CVT fluid & filter changed at 90K & will change again soon. Used Valvoline CVT Fluid.

Engine only runs full synthetic oil 0W-30 in summer, OW-20 in winter. Still has all the power, which ain't nothing to brag about new.

Alternator failed around 125K, rear subframe replaced due to poor paint on early models rusting out. New struts all around and some links. Rear bearings and abs pickups replaced around 180K.

Mass air flow sensor around 206K and Water pump around 195K. Pulled 1500# boat many times. Put in Iridium plugs around 215K and improve mileage and seems to run a little smoother.

Don't beat on the motor and CVT and they seem like they will go 300K. Of some interest is Mopar removed the CVT cooler in Nov 2009 and many complaints of later model CVT's failing. Imagine that! A hotter running CVT not lasting as long.
You've got the cleanest engine I've ever seen!

I like to keep the Pat clean. No need to have corrossion issues and potential fires. If there is a leak I should be able to figure out where it is coming from. I figured I would have it for 15 years, new goal is 20.

The Pat has been part of some great memories, a beautiful wife who departed this world way to early, a great upland hunting dog who found said beautiful wife who sadly passed at 14 years leaving my wife & I in tears, another hunting dog who owns the back seat, many loaded to roof trips to the north woods, lakes, etc.

Not looking forward to a GDI econo motor they make nowadays. Still driving the Pat daily and using the GMC pickup for truck work.

So I bought Franklin AKA( 2012 patriot 2.0 FWD) on 6/23/22 with 195, 740 miles. I refreashed the cooling system, struts all around, redid the rear ( do to the subframe roitting out), rear wheel bearings ( doing the passager side rear 3X's do to getting bad ones) Has far as I know the motor and tranny are original. oil changes every 5,000 and tranny fluid changed every 50,000 Franklin now has 236,200 on him as of right now.

I thought I'd posted this. Apparently not. Bullwinkle, my 2014 Patriot hit 200,000 a couple weeks ago. Because I was on a narrow rural road with someone on my tail I couldn't get a photo of the exact moment. When I found a place to pull over I snapped this. I guess I'm not real good at aiming my camera, either. :(

Yesterday I hit the 200,000 mile milestone on my way home from work. I wonder how many others have hit this with their Patriot. If might be worth putting a sticky up if an admin wants to.

I've had mine on the road since Nov. of 2010 so not quite 6 years and almost every mile has been put on going up and down a mountain pass in Colorado. It's all highway mileage but it's tough highway mileage especially in the winter months. I'm on my 3rd transmission without around 30,000 miles on it and I went through a period of several weeks being in and out of the dealership as they tried to diagnose what ended up being an electrical problem with the wiring harness. I bought the added care plus warranty when I purchased the Patriot so I can't complain too much about the repairs. Jeep warranty has stood behind anything that's gone wrong with it. This is a great vehicle in the snow, gets great gas mileage and the engine is super durable. At this point I'm keeping it for as long as it last and I could easily see getting 300,000 out of it.
I've been impressed enough with the Patriot that I purchased a loaded Cherokee Trailhawk at the end of July. I still plan on using the Patriot for my 100 mile round trip commute on most days but I'll drive the Cherokee enough that the miles will rack up a little slower on the Patriot now.

Anyone else want to chime in on their 200k experience? View attachment 69097
I have 216;000 miles still a great car although keeping temp lower that 199 is exhausting, hopefully when I change water pump every thing will be ok again

Herbert is my 2007 Jeep Patriot. I have around 210,000 miles on it. I bought it at around 125,000 and I think the transmission had just been replaced at that time. It's dragging now and I'm holding my breath, hoping it will last awhile longer. I'm needing to get another year out of him without incurring any major expenses but we'll see.. My biggest problem at the moment is the leaking when it rains, which has just started, maybe 2 months ago. I don't have a carport so I purchased a cover for him, which, on rainy days, I have to tote back and forth to work, so Herbert can be covered up while at work too. He's a trooper. I've taken him all over the place, over some roads I wasn't sure he was up to, but he made it. I'm trying to furnish a house, so we go here and there, buy old furniture, tote it home in Herbert's cargo area, or tied to the luggage rack, and I repaint or refinish, or clean it up, whatever I need to do, and then find another piece the next weekend. All this running around on the weekends is in addition to the 64 miles round trip I drive to/from work 5 days a week.

Welcome @Jojo.at.myhome and Herbert! What do you mean by 'dragging'? If the problem is slow acceleration, your problem may not be your tranny. Patriot plugs should be changed every 30,000 miles or so. A can of fuel injector cleaner may help, too. The cleaner won't give immediate results: put it in with your next fill-up and it will take the whole tank to make a difference.

Also, about the transmission, I presume you have the CVT? If so, be advised that the tranny fluid and both filters should be changed at least every 50,000 miles. The maintenance schedule in the owners manual is very inadequate.

Tranny symptoms are usually slippage, whining noises, or a bearing humming.

Welcome!

Not sure where the leak is (front / rear) or if you have a sunroof but common areas are sunroof drain tubes getting clogged, windshield seal, roof ditch seams, roof rack mounts, and the rear window washer hose grommet.

260k on my 2014 2.0 Sport. 6sp auto.
Changed a lower control arm and a few throttle bodies. Just routine maintenance beyond that.
All but the last TB was under warranty. Decided to try a different TB instead of OE. Not much more than my deductible anyway.
