Need some help identifying an issue with my 2016 Jeep Patriot Sport. When put in gear it judders really bad and feels like it doesn’t want to take off like very slow acceleration than it shakes.
It’s the CVT. I changed the fluid today and both filters. I don’t think it’s ever been changed before. Has 149,000 MilesHi, welcome to the forums.
If it has the CVT, the transmission may be on it's way out.
Judder / shudder on take off and limp mode / slow speed is a common problem often caused by scoring of the valves and valve bores due to dirty fluid contaminated with metal bits. The fluid and both filters should be changed every 30-50k miles rather than 120k as the service manual states.
If the fluid and filters haven't been changed in the last 50k miles you can try doing that and see if it helps. More info on that here:

CVT updated pan, dip stick and cooler links please
Been done to death but I cant find all info with links etc to know i'm on right track. Want to service the CVT (replace filters and fluid) also have seen this 4 ports CVT Transmission Oil Cooler, 2 for Engine Coolant 2 for CVT Fluid. 2 pipes for the inlet/outlet of coolant 2 pipes for the...www.jeeppatriot.com
Otherwise, you may need to take it to a transmission shop that knows CVTs for a diagnostic.
If you're not sure which transmission it has, you can use the VIN to get a factory build sheet that will tell you. Copy the link below into your browser and add the VIN to the end.

Then it may be a problem with scoring of the pump flow control valve. Repair requires removal and disassembly of the transmission.I don’t think it’s ever been changed before. Has 149,000 Miles
Do I have to purchase this softwareThen it may be a problem with scoring of the pump flow control valve. Repair requires removal and disassembly of the transmission.
You may want to get a diagnostic done, or if you have an android device you can try to check the pressures yourself using a copy of CVTz50 - CVT diagnostics with ELM327 and a obd adapter.

CVT Success: In-Vehicle Isolation of Common Problems
All transmission models have unique problems that are common to that model; Jatco CVT units are no exception. Technicians are facing an uphill battle when it cowww.sonnax.com
If you're asking if there's a charge for it, yes, it costs about $5.Do I have to purchase this software

What do you think ?Here's a vid of a shop doing a similar pressure test on a Nissan with the CVT:
Man that makes my heart sinkListening to the video it sounds like the belt is rattling loose on the pulleys.
I think you're looking at at new transmission.
The problem is finding a used transmission that doesn't have a similar issue, or is almost ready to.But if it is tranny can I just pull and swap it with another
That is the only thing. I’m not even sure where to startThe problem is finding a used transmission that doesn't have a similar issue, or is almost ready to.
Maybe if you can find a low mileage unit (less than 40k) in a Patriot or Compass that was totaled in a rear end or side collision that wouldn't have affected the transmission in any way.

Maybe I'm mistaken, but it looks like there's no brake pads in the calipers. The loud noise I found coming from the brakes. This is just so odd
Yes I removed them as they were sticking and causing the really loud grinding noises in the first few videos.Maybe I'm mistaken, but it looks like there's no brake pads in the calipers.
If the noise is coming from the transmission, then (along with the transmission codes) I'd say you're looking at transmission replacement.Yes I removed them as they were sticking and causing the really loud grinding noises in the first few videos.
