Hi all! Looking forward to learning more about the vehicle from you more experienced owners.

I upgraded from a tiny Ford Fiesta to my now 2017 Jeep Patriot 75th Anniversary Edition last Friday, and so far, I really like it. My kids like it too, much more space. I want to replace the stock radio, and I'm looking into options so I can have Google Maps, Amazon Music, reading and replying to texts and messenger, etc

Otherwise, I have no idea what the difference the "75th" makes other than red on the name, and a stamp in the leather. haha

75th anniversary was supposed to be some special deal for 75 years since Willys first started making the MB for the military in 1941. Honestly I think it's mainly the badging that makes it special....there wasn't much room for variety in the options either. Also, I know it's tempting to have all the toys on it, as even I wanted when I first got mine, but may I recommend living with it as it is for awhile? See how you like it long-term like that? The Jeep effect can get to you in the best of ways after awhile. Mine has manual everything except the CVT and the AWD bits of the 4x4 system, and honestly looking back the only thing I wish at all had come on it from new is heated mirrors. Makes it more Jeep the way it is, ya know?

Jeep or not, I happen to like the bells and whistles in mine. :) I think the only things mine doesn't have is heated seats and a sunroof. If I ever find heated seats in my local pick-a-part I'll change that... kinda glad that mine doesn't have a sunroof. I've had several cars with sunfoofs and I've never opened them. One of them I actually painted the glass black bucause the light coming in bothered me so much. But I get where RossoRacer is coming from.

If you upgrade the radio, you'll need to get some other things sorted out too, based on the equipment already installed in the vehicle. Since you'll have kids in the vehicle, you'll need to sacrifice the 12v outlet or the (optional) built-in 150w inverter to charge their gadgets and you'll still need reliable charging for your phone and whatever else you bring along. The dashboard cubby on the passenger side is just the right size to hold a wireless charging mat (the kind made for vehicles) and is close enough to both the 12v socket and the inverter, so you'll want to keep your phone there. For the kids, you can either get a multi-port USB charger that plugs into the 12v socket or a wall charger that plugs into the inverter, and your choice should be made based on the ergonomics you prefer in your vehicle. Personally, I find it easier to use the inverter plug for phone and device charging and use the 12v for my multi-port vehicle USB charger, which has a cord long enough to reach the rear seats easily and can sit on the center console cover or rear seats, where it can be easily accessed by those who need to use it.

Welcome!

Otherwise, I have no idea what the difference the "75th" makes other than red on the name, and a stamp in the leather. haha
Badging, bronze accents, tow hooks for the 4x4, leather seats, and sunroof are the perks to the 75th package.

My second Patriot is a 75th. Still love the look of the bronze on it. :)

Lol, honestly I wouldn't even go with heated seats, considering, well, Jeep, and the fact it's already got a heater. Not even wanting leather/vinyl seats in mine, lol. But I can kinda understand it to a degree if you don't have the luxury of waiting a few minutes to let it warm up, or are habitually late in getting to the vehicle in the first place. But remote start, backup cameras, lane keep assist, etc., you'd be hard pressed to find me warming up to those even on a Bentley, haha.

I live in Buffalo, NY. Gets rather chilly here. Even with remote start there are times when it's still freezing inside when I get in in the morning. Makes me wish I could get a heated steering wheel too. Maybe if I was 20 years younger the cold wouldn't bother me so much. Also with my job, heated seats would be a treat after a long work day. Ahh, the joys of getting old.

I've no experience with heated Patriot seats (sadly), but I've driven rental cars that had them and loved them. Comfort is a very subjective thing, but I happen to find my Patriots seats extremely comfortabe. My wife hates them. I hate her RAV4 seats, she loves them. The most comfortable car seats (to me) that I've ever sat on were in my 1984 AMC Eagle ... tufted pillowtop leather seats... like sitting on a cloud.

I find the Patriot seats, while not nearly Rolls Royce quality, to be more than adequate and comfortable enough to get me to work when I need to pick up the Cascadia and go across the country, and have even driven across the country in my Patriot, with no ill effects. That's all I need out of them and really a little more, haha.
