Nice! Those rocks look sharp, it would make me nervous on stock tires, much like anytime I drive off road around here. Great photos!

In Keweenaw county which is about 30 mins away:
2013-2014 Snowfall - 333.5" with 28" on the ground through 4/23/14

Here in Houghton:

Total through March we had 186.25" but we've had 3 snowstorms in April 2 of them >15" and one about 10" last week.

All asphalt surfaces have melted but on the yards there is anywhere between 0-24" of snow still. Plus we've had numerous days over 50 degrees.

P.S. we might get another 8 inches by Friday...although they aren't sure if it'll be rain or snow.

And to actually give the right answer to your question I think our average is 187"

And if anyone is curious this is the best vehicle I have ever driven in snow.

My family vehicle history:
I grew up driving tahoes, expeditions and Ford 500's(they had a CVT too), in H.S. I drove a '06 diesel F-250 crew cab(first 3 years), '09 toyota tacoma short bed single cab stick(senior car, never should have let my dad sell it for the honda, 2nd favorite vehicle) and a '11? honda element(post senior summer), and when I was taking community college classes a 2011 F-150 cab and a half, 2012 F150 crew cab, '13 Silverado Z71 with locking rear diff(last summers vehicle).

BTW my dad traveled a lot so he'd put a lot of miles on and then trade in for a newer years model for like ~$.10 a mile plus his trade in...I have no idea how he talked people into it but that's how I got my Patriot as a wedding present(he did put like 10000 miles on it before he retired)

Did some exploring today ended up stuck momentarily(forgot to disable traction control and should have used autostick 1).
All pictures taken after I unstuck myself.

do you live in the arctic? i wish i had snow in the mountains here so i could snowboard :(

From the Cliff area as well

Word of advice...if you've already been down a trail with no problems don't always assume it's fine...especially when it rained for the last 3 days...(and are on virtually bald all seasons...)

Made it home though:


So here's the illustrated story(unfortunately you'll have to imagine the tracks are all green and grass covered as I didn't take any pics on the way in, only after getting out.)
Here's kinda what the general area looks like:


So I'm driving in talking with the passengers:

Then I remember, "Hey there's a swamp up there guys, guess we'll have to turn around if it's too sticky. Maybe if I had my lift and mud tires I'd go for it."
Mind you this is an after pic. Everything was green, solid and undisturbed when first driving on it.


We get to the edge and I park to check out how sticky it really was(already knew I wasn't going to try it). Definitely was squishy and I was [momentarily] glad I had stopped a little bit further back than I had in the past. Then I put it in reverse and drove away...not. Tires spun a bit so I went back forward a bit and engaged 4wd and turned esp all the way off. Reverse. Sink...Ahh guys? Try a bit more...yup definitely need assistance of some sort.
This is after using the come-a-long once:

Another place to almost get stuck!


After trying a few times one of my passengers says, "Hey! Would it help if we got out?":doh: I'm a genius...

They hop out and I floor it up over and out 50 feet up the trail where it actually becomes solid.

Did some 'splorin'. Was heading to a certain road taking the shortest path possible and got most of the way there and ran into this wall...couldn't get over it as the trees were in the most perfect spots but I did try and got high centered. Stacked some rocks and backed out.

You have beaches a plenty(although I'm not much a fan of sun... Lol) ! I was just out to Delaware on a work trip and we took the rental expedition out on the beach and it was pretty cool. I do love the U. P.! Awesome trails and most of them are legal to drive on. If anyone comes here on vacation and needs a few GPS coords to explore, PM me.

Not enough torque to make it out of the hole. Should have tried pulling the abs fuse.

Yup... That's a hole...

Friend came and gave a tug. The back left tire was off the ground and front was buried up to the radiator. The BLDs actually locked up I couldn't spin any tire no matter what I did. After a was out I was unable to move hardly, even though I was on flat ground. One of the brakes was seized but after I managed to get moving a little a I heard a clunk and it let go.
