I have a 2013 compass sport that has the cvt with auto stick. My trans went out so I’m in the process of replacing it. I read that in 2014 jeep started using a different transmission in the compass originally produced by Hyundai. From what I’ve seen they have a black pan on the bottom and their valve body is accessible from the side facing the front of the vehicle. I’m curious, could I use one of these 2014 & newer transmissions in my 2013 compass without any issues… or are they not interchangeable?

The 2014+ 6 speed AT isn't drop-in interchangeable with the CVT, to swap them takes a lot of work:
