Experiencing transmission hesitation/shifting issues and vibration of vehicle/hood constantly when driving. Had 2 engine mounts and one transmission mount fixed in 2017. In shop now for 4 engine mount replacements. This is a passenger vehicle not an off road vehicle. Any others experiencing these issues?

Hi, welcome to the forums.

Others have had vibration issues, but they're usually when stopped while in gear, like at a stop sign.

If the hood is bouncing around while you're driving, the hood stops may need adjusting.

This thread might be helpful:

I'm not sure which transmission you have, but whether it's the CVT or the 6 speed automatic they both need service from time to time.

On the CVT the fluid and both filters(there are two) should be changed @30k miles, then 30-50k thereafter depending on driving conditions.
Towing, temp extremes, mountain driving, etc. means sooner changes.

Dealers will charge $400+, independent shops might be less, or you can DIY.

Thanks for the info. 4 engine mounts replaced so much better now as far as vibration. They also changed the spark plugs. As far as the transmission, they said no codes came up. They told me it is a closed transmission so there is nothing to service. I don't know which transmission I have but is an automatic. I want to say cvt.

Glad to hear the mounts are helping, and there's no codes.

Sadly, the dealer is giving you wrong information on the transmission.

No matter if it's a CVT or the 6 speed automatic, neither are permanently sealed; both can be serviced and should be if they are to last.

If you want you can download a factory build sheet for your Patriot using your VIN number (link below), that will tell you which transmission you have.
