I remember someone sending me info that there is another filter located underneath the windshield wiper blades. Anybody else heard of that?
I had seen that, but I believe it was instructions for a Caliber (might have been the earliest model years)... the Jeep Service Manual doesn't have anything but the filter at the fan housing.

Hardest part was emptying out the glove box.
Oh! you're supposed to empty the glove box BEFORE you release the tabs and dump the contents on the floor, where many items roll under the seats, etc.?? Who knew! At least now I have fewer items to place back in the box....

www.rockauto.com still sells three different part numbers for this at dirt cheap prices.

ATP #CF75 air filter @ $4.72
ATP # TA4 Air/Odor (has carbon filter) @ $5.97
Pronto #PC4313 air filter @ $8.05

And the Wix # 24313 air filter @$26.79 :wow:

Next time I order something from there I have to remember to grab one of the ATP ones to try it out.

So it looks like some of the Patriots didn't come with a cabin filter. I recently looked into it because every time I turn on my A/C or Heat a bunch of dust comes out of the vent!! I put the cabin filter in and still get some dust. Anyone else having the same issue? Any ideas on fixing it?

If the dust is downstream of the filter, the filter won't take care of it completely. You may need to run it a while until it's all blown out.

It's true it is the easiest maintenance you can do, other than giving it a wash. Just go to your Jeep dealer parts shop and order a filter. The part number is 05058693AA. Even here in the UK it's only ÂŁ11.90 + 17.5% tax.

I just popped the glove box and openned the filter cover, thanks for all the tips it went smooth.

Though the maintenance manual should read, "put" in an a/c filter rather than "change" the a/c filter since there was none in there in the first place :)

I look forward to breathing filtered air on my next drive!
