2015 Jeep Patriot Cabin Air Filter Making Clicking noise when opening

I recently had a clicking noise when the cabin air filter closed. After replacing the actuator to the right of the glove box, the clicking noise now happens when the cabin air filter is opening. It’s like it won’t stop when opened and wants to keep opening more. Any idea how to fix this? I saw on other posts that I needed to replace the actuator but that didn’t seem to help.
New member and any help is appreciated.

Thank you for the response. I was thinking the same thing based off of reading similar posts. Seems to be a common issue with these patriots. It’s more annoying than anything hearing the clicking. Thanks again for the welcome message.

Just an FYI, I think you are referring to the recirculation door. The cabin air filter sits stationary beneath that behind a plastic access panel.
