Hello, My jeep recently had an error code saying intake manifold runner stuck. I took to mechanic and they reset the check engine light and said call if the light comes back on. it's been about a week and hasn't came on. However, my jeep has done this for a while and jolts randomly when accelerating like almost a kick feeling. I also notice sometimes when getting on the highway and speeding up the RPMs just stay high unless i let off the gas. any thoughts on this whole situation and if it's of urgent concern?

I am really new to a Patriot so I would wait for a more experienced Patriot owner, but that sounds like transmission to me. How many miles on your transmission and do you have the CVT one? It sounds like people around here recommend servicing them prior.

i'm not sure if i have the CVT one to be honest. i have just under 80,000 miles.

Yes, good youtube videos. It is really easy compared. Key would be to borrow a torque wrench and not over tighten. The CVT transmission also has a fluid change at 60K that it sounds like people say is really important.

I guess I'm late to this thread but I agree with the others, its probably your spark plugs. Easy DIY if you have the tools. If not, don't worry: the tools are cheap and you'll save money every time you use them. You can enter "spark plugs" in the search box above and turn up several threads with some helpful hints.
