I bought a new 2016 Jeep Patriot, standard shift in November 2015. When it was about 15/16 months old it started knocking in the front end when I accelerated at 45 to 50 mph in fifth gear. I have taken it to the place I bought it and they just brushed me off. I contacted Chrysler and they sent me to another dealer to check it out. No one seems to be able to find what is causing this problem. It is not the tires, that has been checked. The car is still under warranty and has just over 8,000 miles on it. It has less than 4,000 when I first complained about this to the dealer I bought it from. Has anyone else had this problem with the Patriot? If so, did you get a solution? I am at wits end here and worry every time I take the car any distance. Thank you for any help you can give me here.

I'm sorry to hear about this. Have you done a ride along with dealership personnel to verify that they hear and experience the concerns you've mentioned?

I assume it is still under warranty. Find a helpful dealer. I have a 2016 Patriot with no problems. What kind of noises are you hearing?
A deep knocking that occurs when the engine is under load or lugging it up a hill in a high gear is a classic example of a
crankshaft main bearing that is worn or has excessive play in it. It may not be getting enough oil or it was a defective
bearing/crank fit when the engine was built.Since your engine is so low mileage, have the dealer ride with you to verify it
is a main bearing knock and if so demand a new engine not a repair as this is a serious problem that will affect the life of
the engine down the road.

Knocking under load (such as on a long hill) is also a sign of pre-ignition. That's comparatively minor but if left uncorrected it will eventually cause valve damage. I had a '78 Volare that had a persistent engine knock under those conditions and at about 70,000 miles it needed a valve job.
A ignition/fuel knock is usually in the form of a rattle/pinging sound. A deep hard knock is most likely a mechanical problem. They both can occur under a load on the motor. Switching to a tank of mid grade or premium to see if the knock goes away or changes in sound would prove whether it is ignition or mechanical.

I have been taking my jeep to the dealership for the last 20k for a noise no one can diagnose. My total visit count to two different dealerships have reach 5. I am reaching out now because at 59k I am about to be out of power train warranty. The last two visits have resulted in replaced a wheel hub (which didn't fix the noise) that I paid for, and then a return visit after picking it up to let them try again. I was called yesterday and told they can not hear any noise. I have had mechanic and advisors ride with me and still no answers. I am reaching out to you guys for assistance. I think it sounds like it is in the transmission. After the vehicle has warmed up and you are driving 60 - 75 mph is when it is easiest to duplicate. If you are on a slight incline or having to give it a little gas to maintain speed is when I notice it the most. CAN ANYONE HELP. - sound like a wavering tone not a rattle or growl

also, if you let of the gas the noise goes away so it isnt effected by the rolling speed of the vehicle. and I forgot to state it is a 2016 Jeep Patriot 2wd

No change in how it runs and plugs were changed at 39k. Noise started around 22k

Not on my Patriot, but I had a very similar issue with a previous vehicle. For me, it turned out to be a problem with a tire. It started when I got new tires. After a few months of trying to figure it out on my own I went to the shop that I got the tires from, and when I explained the noise they told me it was most likely a defective tire. They replaced one and the noise never came back.

Though it could be a transmission problem, I'd ask to have the axles checked.
What you describe is similar to what I had. It started at around 65-70 MPH. Let off the gas and the noise stops. It was found to be a bad inner cv joint, which is right next to the transmission.
And the CV boot doesn't need to be torn or leaking severely in order for the joint to be bad.

I also have a 2016 Patriot and I have that same issue. My jeep has a knocking sound coming from the front end somewhere. It only knocks when I'm driving, it doesn't do it when I'm in park or neutral. The more I speed up the faster the knock gets. I took it in to get serviced and was told it was the front axel. I don't know if that is what it really is or not. I'll let you know when I found out myself

Bro there is a recall on I think the wiring harness that feeds the crank sensors. I own a 2016 and have yet to get it done because I haven't had any issues yet. I would check with a dealer by giving them your VIN and see if the recall applies to yours. Be patient though some service advisors suck at their job because warranty doesnt fill their pockets man. I was a Toyota service advisor for 2 yrs and saw some lazy bums. If your harness is sparking out this would explain your preignition knock.

Dealing with the same things. 44000 miles. Haven't changed plugs yet...14000 miles over due. Took Midas on 2 drive alongs....Stumped!
Figured out having after- market audio added without upgrading to H/o alternator, can lead to alot of these issues...kinda lost with how to go about fixing something professionals cant diagnose.
