Its official as of this morning! Ignatz (my 2008 Patriot) is now my longest running vehicle. Its been very light on repairs and expenses which is why he's been around for so long. I hope he presses on -- other than envy and covetousness, I have no interest in buying another vehicle. If FCA brings back the Patriot in another 5 or 10 years, I may be interested by then. :)

Aside from the transmission replacement Ignatz had to have, and the wire issue you figured out, any other major issues?

Congratulations. I'm glad its holding up for you. You're intelligent financially for holding on to your patriot. Many people will pay much more for another vehicle and be into debt. If you have the budget sure, but its perfectly good to keep your vehicle basic like the patriot. In fact, I prefer a basic , simple vehicle like the patriot, without all the extra computer stuff

Congrats!

Mine is a 2014 and I am at 150K. I have done nothing but PM. I did have the trans overheat issue, but it was resolved with a fluid and filter change at the dealer and has not returned. I expect another 100K out of mine.

Just curious, do you do a lot of sustained freeway driving?

Just curious but at what mileage did your cvt overheat? Just went through this with mine at 54K and so far a trans service has helped with the whining but it's only been 2 weeks.

SINCERE CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

Really good to hear it's possible to get well into 6 figures. Other than my cvt issues I'm very happy with mine. If I get 100K I will consider myself well ahead of the game! Again awesome numbers Ignatz!:smile2:

No, those have been my only significant repairs. The CVT was under warranty so the only major repair that cost me was the wiring harness. I've done some front-end work during the winter along with a brake job which together cost more than few bucks, but things do wear out after awhile. Frankly, the brakes are amazing. I replaced them at 100,000 and again at 235,000. I've never had brakes last so long.

I'm with you on the simple vehicles. Less stuff to break! Most of the extras I can live without. PS, PB, AC are about it for me.

Danger, at the rate you're going you'll pass me in another year. How do you rack up so many miles? Outside sales? Outrageous commute? GF in another state?

And for all your congratulations, thank you! :notworthy: Truth is, Ignatz's longevity is partly due to good driving habits learned from my Dad, a good service department at my dealership, and a well-designed and manufactured product. Still staggers me that FCA terminated such a durable, versatile, and good-selling vehicle.

My commute to work is 87 miles each way. 50 of that is on I95 through Virginia into DC the rest is other roads. Ironically, I do mostly stop and go on the interstate and sustained "freeway" style driving on the other roads. So, a mix of both.

Mine happened initially at 58K, then again at 60. I had the serviced performed after the second instance. I kept a close eye on it after that for a while. Once bitten, twice shy as they say. But it has been good since. I had it done again at 120K because that was the service interval, but I consider it PM since it wasn't addressing an active fault or problem.

Outrageous commute. But if I want to make good money I have to go to the places that pay good money. I would rather have a long drive to work and love where I live than have an easy commute but hate where I live. So, I made the decision to live in the boonies, and drive to the city. The same job I do in DC closer to home pays 30K less per year. Factor in the difference in living costs, and in short, as long as I can get 22MPG I make more with the commute. It does get old sometimes, but then I go buy a boat or remodel my kitchen just because I can and remember why I do it. It's just me and my wife and our dogs. I would probably feel differently if kids were part of the equation. Plus you'll probably find that most people working in aviation do so because they love it, not because it's a job. And I do love what I do.

OK Aaron. That's good news. Thank you very much!

That's really impressive. I'm at about 180,000 on my 2008 (bought in 2007). There have been a few repairs along the way but nothing major and the engine & transmission show no signs of problems.
I'm glad to hear that you've had no major problems. Seems forums like this collect people with problems -- and rightfully so. With a couple thousand people on here, chances are someone else has had the same or a similar problem and may have a solution. We don't hear much about Patriots that just keep perkin' along.
