480 how is your MPG so low? Do you drive pedal to the floor all the time?

I'll admit i'm an semi aggressive driver. I don't like to drive below the speed limit. I'm usually going 5mph over the speed limit. Though I don't floor it at green lights like others.

My MPG is usually around 25mpg and if I were to drive slower and take it easier i would achieve better MPG for sure.

Just had my worst tank EVER at 16.2 MPG. It was all city and I like to leave the thing running, so ...

This week, I made a run to NW Indiana and did 23.7, but was disappointed it wasn't higher. When I made that same trip in 2011, I hit 27.6.

I just bought my 2014 Compass about a month ago. I'm getting 22-24 in town and 27-32 on the highway. I've put 4000 miles on it so far, including a 1750 mile road trip from midwest to east coast. I got 32 on one stretch through West Virginia. It is a FWD with 2.4 engine and 6 speed automatic. The road trip was comfortable and easy to drive; really like the vehicle.

I don't know MB? I have always had terrible gas mileage! I actually baby it, i rarely get it at or over 2,500 rpm during acceleration. Seems alot of people have my same problem though!

The entire winter, I hovered around 16/17 mpg. Figure it could be the winter tires, jumped back around 20 the week i flipped to my summer tires.

I stopped worrying about it.

It is what it is.

I don't think about the variable transmission anymore, that's a plus.

I drive my 2012 Sport, 5 speed, 4x4 about 400 miles per week. Here are some of my mileage statistics. It has 27800 miles on it.

1. 31-32 mpg driving 55 mph
2. 30-31 mpg driving 60 mph
3. 28-30 mpg driving 65 mph
4. 26-27 mpg driving 70 mph

I try to drive 55 mph as much as possible. Most of my commute is on two lane rural highway so only the last 10 or so miles is in the city which is stop and go. I some times take the interstate 4 lane for time reasons but mileage does drop. I always shift up in the 2000 to 2500 rpm range. I keep a fuel log every time I fill up and the very worst mileage I have ever gotten was when I was breaking it in when new and that was 23-24 mpg.

Used to get about 23 mpg's all OEM, 215/65R17 Wrangler SR-A tires with OEM copper Spark plugs, and OEM air filter. Needed new tires at about 30K miles and since I do more highway then anything put on 215/60R17 Nankang AS-1 tires (Got a great price 69.00 a tire) since i had the miles I did my 30K service and changed to platinum plugs and threw in a K&N air filter, now I'm getting about 25.5/26 Mpg's... Not bad at all. My riot seems to be a little more peppier of the line too. I love my little 5 speed 4x4 :)
