Vibrating after suspension work

Hey everyone, I've been away for awhile, but finally got around to taking care of suspension issues that have been plaguing the Pat lately.

On the front end, replaced the strut assemblies, lower control arms and sway bar end links. Then I took it for an alignment.

Now, during moderate to heavy acceleration, I have vibration coming from the front end. If I tromp the gas, the Pat wants to go every way but straight.

I also noticed that the front end sits up fairly high, higher than it used to. I'm guessing this is due to worn rear suspension components, which are getting taken care of next week.

But back to the issue at hand, what could be causing the front end to shake under acceleration? It didn't shake at all prior to replacing the aforementioned parts. Thanks in advance!

Same as yours, 2008 FWD.

I checked the sizes of everything prior to installing and made sure everything matched up. The only thing that was an upgrade was the Moog sway bar endlinks.

I'm going to order the parts for the rear this week (tax refund incoming!) And install this weekend. And see if raising the back end up helps.

I'm glad I paid extra for the 1 year of alignments, so I can take it back afterwards.

How unlikely same issue, just replaced Struts and Lower Control Arms and now I have a vibration during acceleration. Had new transaxles installed and still have the vibration issue. If anyone has any ideas of have solved this issue please reply.
What are you running for tires? Are they OEM size or close? Off size tires can cause problems. Are you lifted or any other suspension mods?

Just food for thought here, but I once had the opposite problem as you -- in a way our problems seem to rhyme. I had a set of tires that I took off our Wrangler because we got the "death wobble." When I put them on my Grand Prix I got a vibration when driving along between 55 - 70mph; there was no vibration when I was accelerating. When I got rid of those tires the problems went away. It was just a bum set of tires that wouldn't work anywhere.

IMHO, if it was the tire balance I'd expect the vibration all the time.

Running OEM tires, Brand new ones BTW, car was aligned and all wheels were balanced. Still have the vibration issue, does not seem to occur in first gear, but most noticeable in second and then becomes less noticeable as you go through the gears. What's also strange is sometimes it doesn't occur at all? When you let off the gas or push in the clutch it goes away.

Any updates? I just changed lower control arms, struts, and sway bar end links. I also installed the 1.5 inch Daystar lift.

I am having the exact same symptoms as you. The front end gets squirrelly if I hit the pedal hard ( goes every way but straight ). It also shakes and shudders under load at any speed over 15-20 if I give it gas.

I didn't have any of these symptoms before changing the parts out so I'm positive it's not " spark plugs / performance " related. It feels like maybe a CV shaft but I'm not positive.

Hopefully someone can lend some advice. Thanks in advance!

Well I’ve had the front struts and cv axles replaced twice and still not fixed. Changed all front brake parts and tie rods, linkages, etc. it sometimes feel like the tire is too narrow and can’t keep contact with the road. This started happening after original struts were replaced. 2 mechanics and myself haven’t been able to figure it out. Wondering if it needs a camber kit or some caster adjustments. Only thing I haven’t replaced is the wheel bearings but they have zero play or noise. Hopefully I don’t have to buy the mopar shocks and coils because I’d have to buy all the bits and pieces again because Firestone threw them out lol.

Well am not the only one with that problem. I changed the rear control arms, sway bar links, brake caliper. And now replacing the front control arms, sway bar links and tie rods too. Hopefully after the alignment. It will be fixed. Only thing left to change are the struts and axles.

Sounds good, hopefully that is it. I just got mine back, still shakes a little in second gear but at least 1st & 3rd doesn't shake anymore. Basically I think the alignment and camber bolts helped. It was not resolved 100% though, the mechanic swears the firestone tires are bad. However, they only have 3000 miles and would have been bad since they were new from the factory. Just going to drive it as is until something breaks.

let me know if tie rods fixed it. You will probably need an alignment after to know for sure.
