I have a 2011 Patriot Latitude, it’s fully loaded; power locks, power windows, heated seats, and it’s a manual transmission. You guys get the gist.
My car doesn’t have an alarm? What’s up with that? I can lock the door with the key walk away for 3 hours and unlock via the open window and the alarm won’t sound.

I think the alarm was optional except on certain export models. Mine doesn't have it either.

Another thread on it here:

Since all of them have the panic alarm on the key fob, it makes wonder if this is an option that jscan or other obdii app can enable...hmmm.

Just for fun, I used AlfaOBD and set the interior vehicle theft alarm to "VTA". The default was "No security".

Now when I lock it with the key fob, the security led shows it goes through the arming process (flashing fast for 15 secs) then flashes slowly, so the alarm is apparently activated and working.

Such a deal...
