Studdering mid acceleration

Hey all,

Not sure if the is the right sub but I have been having issues with my 2014 2.4 L. When I am driving and accelerating, it will studder like it's trying to shift but can't. If I release the throttle and immediately give it more gas it gets past it and carries on like normal. Yesterday I replaced the throttle body and air filter. It went into limp mode a week prior and I was confident it was the throttle body based on others and YouTube videos. Plugs are next just didn't have time yesterday.

I plugged in my Innova and got a code P2110 before the throttle replacement and that is gone now. I performed the relearn twice and it seamed to drive better. More responsive and less vibration (the filter should have been changed a while ago) at idle while in drive.

Went for a decent drive last night and it was still shuddering from time to time.

Anyone have any suggestions as to what i should be looking at next? Injectors? Coils?

I am dreading the thought of it being the CVT and am hopeful it isn't. Its got 109,000 km. Should I change the Trans fluid or flush maybe? Is a flush not recommended like a regular auto trans?

Factory style plugs are only good for about 30k miles, when they're worn they can cause hesitation / stumbling on acceleration.

I'd change them out and see if that makes a difference before doing anything else.

That is the plan. Just trying to get ahead of it.

I have replaced them once already. Picked up a pack of NGK OEM replacements a week ago. Gapped and ready to go. If it doesn't rain today I will swap them.

I keep seeing people say "I performed the relearn twice and it seemed to drive better." The factory service manual states that you need a scan tool for the throttle body relearn procedure. Are people here just doing the accellerator pedal procedure and calling it the throttle body relearn??

Somebody here please finally end my confusion about the throttle body relearn procedure, lol.

Nope, sorry.....not until you give me props for putting in Ruthenium plugs. lol :)

I think it's the pedal procedure that people do mostly, but there's also turning the key "on", waiting to hear the throttle body move, then key "off".

You may remember this:

All of the above is good advice. I'll add my 2c worth: My 2008 stuttered mid-acceleration and it turned out to be unequal tires confusing the ECM. If your tires are equally sized and equally worn, ignore this, but if you've some good ones and shabby ones on at the same time, they could be the culprit.

Just swapped the plugs. They were definitely begging to be replaced. Took it for a little drive but realized I didn't have my license with me so I didn't really open it up. Visiting my mom this weekend so when I head back to town tomorrow I will let'er rip and report back. Im pretty confident she will be good to go
