I've just bought a 2008 patriot, on the roof rails (not cross sections) the paint is coming off, I was wondering if they can be removed for re-spraying, I don't fancy spraying them in situation, any help appreciated.

Bottom of the first page and the top of the second. He removed them and put the bolts back in place. Then he eventually went on to put some plugs in.

I'd say leave the rails on, mask it good and don't do it on a windy day. What's a newspaper cost? 50c? (And you probably didn't agree with the editorial anyway).
A roll of making tape is $5.
If you paid yourself minimum wage to remove and reinstall the rails you'd be into it for $20.
Then after its all together again it rains and your Patriot showers you with love, uh, water.

Lever off the plastic covers, two torx bolts on each end and then remove, it was dead simple, thanks the replies.
