I am thinking about buying a performance chip. supposed to get better gas mileage and more torque, also more HP. The reviews I have found are mixed. Most say the shifting is smoother. The company that makes the one I am looking at is Innovative Performance Chips. Does any body here have one? I have a 4x2 sport, 2.4 6 speed auto.

I don't think anybody on here has heard of a performance chip for the Patriot, otherwise half of us would probably have it by now. The engine and CVT are amazing, just tuned to be too slow. I've heard the 6-speed is supposedly better, probably only because Chrysler wasn't scared to experiment with something they're familiar with. No reason to have gears like that in a Patriot though, and it's still never gonna be a Corvette. Would be nice if somebody actually had a product that worked for us though.

Just found their website, looks legit enough, but I don't know how well it'll work with Chrysler's overprotective computer in place. If it works, most of us would likely be interested.

I am going to give it a try. Ill post pics of install and see if it makes a difference. if not ill just take it out. Ill try and make a video of it. In the meantime i will track my mileage and attach my scantron to it and make some notes on stuff.

Point taken Tyler. It was just a thought. I havent seen anyone post anything about the chips, so I thought I might try it. That is what is so great about this forum. Alot of people share their knowledge and it helps in the decision making process. Maybe i will still check it out sometime in the future, but for now ill probably spend my money on some other mods. I am really wanting some better tires. Thanks for the reply

I've posted that a few times. I know that this topic has been discussed a number of times the last few months... NOT worth your money. I've done a lot of vehicle tuning in the past. All of it required either swapping the ECU, or directly programming the ECU. If you are not changing the software in the ECU, you will not have any real effect on performance/fuel economy. This includes adding a high flow intake or exhaust.

I have posted about this same "chip"recently. I believe it was titled waste of money or not? Come to find out, it would have been a waste of money... Thanks again for your input fellas...
