According to Good Car Bad Car, 12,316 Patriots were sold in the US last month compared to 8,533 for 2015. Jeep Patriot Sales Figures - GOOD CAR BAD CAR

Total for the year so far is 96,039, which tops year end totals for all previous years except 2015.

Looks like the Patriots last year just might be its best.

FCA must phase out the Patriot ASAP. This vehicle is wa-a-ay too popular. The Patriot's constantly increasing sales are proof positive.
FCA needs needs to put out something smaller with less cargo capacity, less comfortable on the highway, and all-around less versatile;
or something bigger, more expensive, less fuel-efficient, and all-around less fun to drive.
Either way the replacement will lower their sales which must be their intention.

Their are several obvious benefits to dropping the Patriot:
  • FCA's competition really needs FCA to drop the Patriot so that their sales will increase.
  • Another benefit to replacing the Patriot with a less popular vehicle is that FCA can reduce manufacturing capacity thereby lowering overhead.
  • At the same time that will mean they can lay off a lot of workers and that will diminish their payroll.

Those geniuses in FCA management are so far ahead of us!

And don't forget, something that really doesn't look like a Jeep!

Maybe people are buying them like crazy because they know in a years time, the price of the lowest priced jeep will go up 30% with the removal of the patriot and all of its incentives. The next lowest priced jeep will be the renegade which is also smaller. The patriot is an entry vehicle to jeep and jeep thinks that people are willing to pay a higher price of entry.

I have been wondering what my next used car will be. Most likely it will be one of the new cars being made today so in 5 years it will be mine :) It looks that I might still stay with the patriot in 5 years lol. Kind of was hoping to upgrade but the way jeep prices their vehicles and the design of their low end vehicles is keeping me with the patriot.

I'm just going to put this out there.... If vehicle requiremetns (namely federal laws) didn't change, VW would still be making a bug.

A patriot does not, and will not meet fuel efficiency, emissions, and safety requirements in the next couple of years. They also use the same stamping tools and such for the last ~10 years. The equipment wears out and has to be replaced. if they are going to invest in replacing it, they have to use that money wisely, and invest in new vehicles that will meet those requirements longer term.

the biggest reason the patriot is so popular right now is price. It is CHEAP, right now in my area, you can get a pretty well optioned FDII for right at $18000 (almost $27000 MSRP). and optioned up FWD ones for $16000 (25000msrp).

Okay, okay. All good things must pass. So as long as FCA can make a replacement that LOOKS like a Jeep, is priced like a Patriot, and is equal or better in every respect to the Patriot, I'm game.

But pleeze-o-pleeze, don't give me something that's almost as good in every respect and costs more. The Renegade is a good example of too many trade-offs. The only 'improvement' is fuel economy, but they could have accomplished that by putting that engine in a Patriot.

If the government is really that concerned about safety they can mandate that we all wear helmets and HANS devices when we drive! (Its coming. Trust me on that.)

Looks like FCA took a hit in sales last month. Don't be surprised if Belvidere keeps making Patriots after end of year. But the Compass will be done. Sometimes things get tweaked and even when the Cherokee starts to get made in Belvidere, they probably could keep the MK line going until the full switch. I'm pretty sure the MKs and Darts had their own production lines. Not sure.Just my thoughts.

Well, since they are naming the new replacement for the Patriot-Compass as "Compass" maybe they will keep making the Patriot a little longer. I had read previously that they were going to call it a "Patriot." My service manager told me that he thought that the Patriot was a better built vehicle than the Renegade, but that is just his opinion. (This was long after I bought my Patriot and not from their dealership)

oh, I'm not buying a new car any time soon. I am hoping to get a new job soon, and I'll have to save up the cash for a new vehicle. I'm kinda all over the place. I love the new fiat 124 spider. but the 2018 compass is intriguing. We'll see. if I start this new job, It will be at least two years before I'm buying anything.

If the lowest priced non-Wrangler is above $25,000 USD, then an entry-level(basic wheels, clutch, crank windows, etc.) Wrangler will be the cheapest Jeep for the first time in I don't know how long. Build & price on the website shows starting price for a JK to be just shy of $24,000. If I were looking for a brand-new secondary vehicle right now, it'd be either that or a FD2 Patriot, most likely. Among Jeeps anyways. I'd be lying if I said a Camaro wasn't tempting.

One month ago I bought a 2017 Patriot and I quickly fell in love with it. I've had other trucks/4x4s before. From what I've seen so far, it's built solid and should last. It fits me good as I'm tall. Lots of room. For my region, the dealers can't keep them on the lots very long, people are buying them up. So far so good. I can't see why Jeep discontinued this product line.

Because they're stupid, that's why. They did the same thing to the Liberty. First, they changed it up, jacked up the price, and then discontinued it. I had a 2004 Liberty (which got totaled due to some idiot hitting my left front tire and breaking the axle) and a 2007 Liberty (traded in for my present 2010 Patriot because it was a gas hog). I really liked the old Liberty. I wish it would be brought back. I hate the Compass - I think it's ugly.

The first generation Liberty had a very short life for a very popular vehicle. I think one year they sold 150,000 of them could be more. They were priced in the mid 20s nicely equipped. A true SUV. AMC designed the 3.7 liter engine which is bullet proof. Our 2.4 liter engine is bullet proof. It's the solid valves that make noise right. Reason why it is noisy in a good way.

If you are at all interested in the Renegade, you might want to check your local dealer. From what I can tell, Jeep is doing an offer on 2016 Sports with the power package for $19k if you qualify for the factory discounts. However, that does not include the $2k loyalty discount, so if you qualify for that it's like $17k. A dealer near me has four in stock and I'm tempted even though I've been planning to wait to replace my Patriot.
