Sunroof Leak - My Patriot is haunted - MAJOR electrical problems @ 38k miles r/t leak
Jeep 2010 Patriot, 2.4L CVT, 38k miles, Sun and fun package w/sunroof, blah blah...
Possible relevant history:
Car taken to dealership 3x between 34-36k miles for sunroof leak that STILL continues to leak from front and rear dome lights.
Here's the haunting story:
I let my dog outside to use the bathroom before I went to bed and I noticed that my Jeep's electrical system was going absolutely insane. From outside the car, I could hear relays under the hood clicking like crazy (60-80 times per second), the car stereo/dash lights were turning off and on, headlights were flickering, and the car unlocked itself. IT'S ALIIIVVVEEE!!!!
I opened the hood for further inspection. I disconnected the battery and left it for a minute trying to figure out what just happened. After I reconnected the battery, I immediately heard the relays under the hood near the front driver's side headlamp clicking and the weirdness begin again. The closest fuse I could narrow it down to was fuse #17 "IOD Feed Mod-Wcm". I didn't want to try to start the car while the relays were clicking, but the noise stopped after removing that fuse so I trudged onward.
After starting the car, several features were disabled (as expected from removing a fuse), but the major accessories worked fine: headlights turn on, blinkers work, radio works, interior dome lights work (but strangely wouldn't turn off...EVER). So I was proud of myself for narrowing the problem down to a possible short related to fuse #17. I turned the ignition switch / key to the off position and the engine kept running! I pulled the key completely out of the ignition and the engine kept running for 5-15 seconds. I stayed up 3 hours (until 4am) researching the forums and the entirety of the internet, and came up empty. When I went back out to my car to clean up before retiring and throwing in the towel (with fuse #17 still removed), the Jeep decided to kick me square in the beanbag...a relay was still clicking.
I'm currently working on a solution by checking the ground cable to the battery and checking some wiring for corrosion, but right now I'm absolutely furious.....and lost
Is this related to the leak?
Will my dealership cover it?
Why does my 2010 Jeep with 38k miles act like more of a piece of crap than all of my teenage clunkers combined?:blah:
The closest thread I could find that sounds almost exactly like my problem.

If anyone is interested, I can try to post a video if the problem doesn't mysteriously disappear.

Update! 03/07/2014
The dealership never fixed the Jeep and I tried responding to JeepCares when he originally contacted me. I don't know if there are blocks against sending PMs when you only have so many posts, but the problem still persists and I never received a response from JeepCares. So far, it's my belief that Jeep doesn't care. They never cared. Here's an updated video of what happened after today's rainstorm. I learned to park on hills with my read bumper angled downhill, so that the water doesn't short out any electronics. The alternator pulley went bad at 53,000 miles and jeep wanted $400+ for a replacement alternator. Jeep does not supply the alternator pulley as a separate item, but they were willing to admit that the alternator pulley was a wear and tear item. What was I thinking when I bought this piece of crap? Grab some popcorn and check the video below for the flood footage!

The investigation begins:
I removed the passenger-side pillar cover and decided to look at what might be causing my issues...
