Intermittent wipers setting won't work, 2017 patriot

Hello everyone,

The front wipers will only work on normal or high, there are no intermittent settings that function. Settings one through six function at normal speed and setting seven goes to high. When the wipers are turned off they don't go to the park position but position themselves wherever the wipers are turned off. Removed and sent the TIPM to Circuit Board Medics which checked out fine. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

My first guess would be a problem with the park sense switch in the motor or the wiring/connector from the motor to the TIPM.

That switch is what the TIPM looks at to determine wiper position and how long to pause on intermittent settings. The switch is at ground when closed (wipers down).

Here's the manual explanation:

After that I would check the wiper switch

The attached file below contains info about the wiper system from the service manual, and starting on page 84 how to use a meter to check for proper resistance in each switch position.
