Picked up a used 2015 2.4 High Altitude with 56000 miles - recently added a hitch and trailer wiring. While investigating oil coolers from many sources including Mopar it always came up as part number 82210701 being correct and part number 82210700 being wrong. Found out 82210701 has been discontinued, did track one own in Indiana, ordered it and installed it yesterday. The instructions also include 82210700, which does not have a radiator cap or hoses to go to the cooler itself. Very confusing information! I've heard the information is really vague. If I used the 82210700 I would have no radiator cap from what the images look like. Everything I've read indicates that Patriots prior to 2009 had a separate transmission cooler in front of the radiator and after that the oil cooler. Looking for definitive information that what I installed is correct as all information indicated that the 82210701 is correct for 2015 and the 82210700 is not. Also has anybody installed any additional transmission cooling as well as the oil cooler?

I used the 82210701 engine oil cooler on my 2014 with six speed automatic.

Lots of people have installed additional transmission coolers, but most of them had CVT's that were prone to overheating without towing.
If you're doing a lot of towing and concerned about transmission temperature consider getting a device that will monitor and display the temp for you.
