I just put on a new tipm module and the lights my dash started working and everything was fine now it went back to black the dash none of the gauges are working and it got locked in park the shifter and turn signals not working and windshield wipers not working. This is a brand new tipm. Any idea what this could be?

Try resetting the system by disconnecting the battery cables, touching and holding the cables together for 10 mins (use a zip tie or wire to hold them if needed), then reconnect.

Have you entered your vehicle's VIN into the new TIPM unit?

I heard that this is required when replacing.

Yes, the TIPM already came programmed when they rebuilt it, they programmed it afterwards

do I touch the 2 battery cable ends together? The metal ends?

Yes, the idea is to drain all the electrical charge out of the system.

I would double check the system ID and the TIPM system status.

Alfa OBD does a good job of this.
