Hey folks, I'm Alex, and I'm currently in the process of purchasing a 2013 Jeep Patriot 2.4L 4x4. Can't wait to really dig into it!

My first car was a 93 Grand Cherokee with about 300k miles. It was an awesome ride. I moved on over the years. I got pretty into import tuning late in high school and early undergrad. I had a supercharged Hyundai Tiburon that was running 13.1 second quarter miles :ROFLMAO: I was a very active member of newtiburon.com which brought me a lot of good times and friendships over the years from meetups and just general discussion. I hope to have the same experience here with you folks!

I just finished grad school and started working as a chemist in the oil catalyst industry, so I spend a lot of time at work....but I can't wait to start tinkering with my new project.

I've spent some time reading, and noticed you all use a lot of acronyms that I'm going to have to learn... but I'm looking forward to learning!

See you around!

Welcome! Maybe we need a glossary. Here's a couple:
EVIC is Electronic Vehicle Information Center (the messages on the dashboard)
ECM is Engine Control Module (computer)
CVT is Continuously Variable Transmission which brings me to a friendly warning. The CVT needs the tranny fluid changed about twice as often as the owners manual recommends, i.e., at least every 50,000 miles. If it hasn't been done, or if you don't know, then get around to it ASAP.
