New here. I could sure use a granny gear on my 2017 Patriot, 5 speed, 4WD. Is there any way to change first gear to a lower ratio? Probably would have to change the second gear as it is geared too high to start from a stop, too. Or maybe add a high/low gearbox? Or is there a 6 speed transmission that will work? I am not trying to turn my city Jeep into a serious off roader. I just spend a lot of time on dirt forest roads that are not maintained. A 4WD is needed and the lower gear ratio would help a lot.

I haven't seen anyone post on a modification like that, but they can re-gear other transmissions so I suppose with enough time and money something could be done.
There was a 6 speed manual transmission on the export diesel models, but I can't tell you what it would take to bolt it to the 2.4L. or if it's even possible.
