Actually looks nice! I had my doors off for stereo install Saturday. I was surprised by how easy they were to take off and then put back on

Damn it somone beat me to my secret project.. Haha looks great! What's u do for wiring for speakers and stuff?? I've decided cannonball plugs are the best way to go for ease and waterproof-ness
Also with it being unibody you most likey will need reinforincement as I've read xjs do on the trails sometimes so it doesn't fold

I wanna make mine easy to remove and put on with no loss to fuction when back on, what did you do about the wiring for speakers and door locks/windows? And if u have any details how removed that'd be cool I don't have a shop to dick around with so I've gotta buy tools as I need em, I just assume you removed the bolts on the hidges connect to the door?

On mine there were just two plugs that unplugged and then re connected when I put the doors back on. As for how to remove them, all you do is take off the four (washers?) that attach the door to the hinges. As for structural integrity, I cannot vouch for that because all I did was take the two fronts off, drill a couple of holes to run my speaker wire through and then re attached the door. It was easy with the three of us, two to hold the door straight and in place, and one to put the nuts back on.

to be honest i have thought about this several times. I have even toyed with getting an offroad company to possibly fabricate the tube doors. I think that would be sweet but im sure that will easily be a $1000 project since it would be made from scratch with time and labor all accounted for..

It just helps it, I wouldn't go off roading that way, but driving down the road shouldn't hurt so long as it's not everyday, it's mainly a myth about that, there's a pretty big gap (speaking for size of gap b/t door n frame) between. Super sliders would help if u are worried tho about folding or warping, I drove around with my drivers door not able to close for about a month (got hit) and it's still fine

That bad boy looks tough with no doors! It looks like a true off road vehicle, nice work!!
