CVT Transmission Service At Dealer

Went by dealership and asked about CVT fluid and filter change in my 2016 FDII Patriot and they said they would do it and would cost $$500 to 600. No problem there but nobody at the dealership knows about the transmission cooler filter, service or parts guys. It did not even show up on the transmission blow up diagram at the parts counter. Question is do the 2016 's have this filter?? If so....part number and o-ring part number?? My Pat has been pretty high maintenance but I like its unique capabilities within the small cuv segment, so will probably keep it.

Yes, the 2016 with the CVT has the cooler filter.

I have never seen a Chrysler part number for the filter, but they're not hard to come by after-market.

From the online Chrysler parts sources I have, I've only seen the o-ring shown as part of the oil-to-water cooler assembly.

Some get them from ebay:

And $500-$600 is a bit steep, you might want to shop around a little.

If you think you might want to tackle it yourself, here's a post with pretty much all the info.

No, you don't have to drain the pan first.

And there should be enough room to unbolt and move the integrated bypass valve plate (or soup can for FDII) far enough to get the filter out without disconnecting the coolant or fluid lines.

When you take the plate/soup can off you might get a teaspoon-ish or so of fluid leaking out so be prepared for that.
