Nice work! Where in Texas are you?
I live on the North Side of FTW a few miles from Keller, Watauga, Haltom City. But I work on the South Side almost near Burleson.

This is going to be like a whole new experience for me again. Having a quiet vehicle.

This transmission started crapping out on me right after I bought it.

I bought this Jeep when after driving my Saturn pretty underneath a non-moving Rav4 at highway speeds and living to tell the tale, (Plastic vehicles have great crumple zones!) I had a Patriot as a free upgrade on a rental because the 2010 Malibu rental check engine light came on.

The 2010 Patriot had great mileage and it wouldn't fit under a Rav 4. So that fulfilled my two vehicle requirements.

I didn't like the steelies or the manual door locks so I made it a point to get the alloy wheels and power everything. So the 2009 one I got fit my requirements. (That and it had to be under warranty even if for a tiny bit)

And by the by, the paramedic, and doctor both said I should have been killed, but seatbelts saved me.

The family that bought my xB live in Watauga. Small world

Way to go Stonent! Way to persevere your way through the warranty red tape. I'll bet you'll be very happy once you get it back and can listen to the radio at regular volume again!

Dealer fail...

I called them Friday around 10:30 asking if by chance they might have the jeep done by the end of the day since I was going out of town this weekend and they said "Oh yeah sure! It will be ready this afternoon!" and I said "Ok Great!"

So around 3:00 I called again just to make sure, and he was like "Yeah it'll be ready late this afternoon!" and I said "Ok so by close of business it will be ready?" and he said "Yep" and again I said because I was going out of town this weekend so at 5:30 I have someone give me a ride to the dealer. Some guy comes up and says "Well I don't show it is ready...." and he walks off and I see him talking with 2 or 3 guys in the shop and they keep looking at me. Then he comes back in and says "Uh... It's not ready, and right now your jeep is in pieces and the guy already went home for the day"

I was PISSED. Especially while I was there there were 2 other people who I heard say "But you said you'd have it ready!"

I asked why nobody called me and they just kind of shrugged and said "Well I can have him call you when he gets back" and I left.

On the way back I was kicking myself for not saying that I needed a free loaner car for the weekend but it was too late for me to turn around and I was late for my second job by then.

If he had only said "No I don't think it will be ready" before hand I would have adjusted my plans right then but to get my hopes up and have the tech go home early?!

I've been following your dilemma and I'm really sorry this is happening to you. The dealership is probably mad that they are changing it for less money than they wanted, hence the delay (?)

I would have pitched a fit and made them give me a loaner!! Sorry to say, but I'm pretty good at that lol!

I hope it gets better for ya

Stonent, I'm down the road in Hurst, actually just a stone's throw from the Allen Samuels Dodge/Hyundai dealership, where I get my 2008 Patriot serviced regularly. Which dealership are you working with?
I won't name names until this is all over.... But they are right next to TCC in FTW.

Another broken promise. I called this morning and talked to the service advisor and he said it would be ready by 3:00 ... 3:00 rolls around and nope won't be ready. He went home because he was sick. And I asked for a loaner and they said "Well we can set you up with a rental through enterprise at your expense."

Ok latest again, called and talked to the service advisor.. *Definitely* by noon. He said it would have been sooner but they needed to reprogram the computer to talk to the transmission or so they said...

Well I guess the clocks there strike noon at 13:00.

I got up there at 12:00 on the dot (I had my phone out and it clicked from 11:59 to 12:00 just as they called me up)

So the guy there called back for the service advisor and he didn't answer so he called the shop and go the tech and said "Well do it, he's here!"

Then he said "We're just flashing your PCM, have a seat in the waiting room"

Anyway, it took an hour and I got it. I did some WOT CVT style accelleration and it seemed to hold together, then I remembered how loud these engines were.

On the back of the paperwork they marked Front Differential needs future attention.
I noticed that after I left, I don't know what they meant by that one so I may have to call back.

As far as the overdue oil change, I just never took the sticker off. But the oil has been changed once and is ready for another. (I just cleared the code before dropping it off so I wouldn't hear about it)

Also I did look up the part number referenced for the fluid and it was CVT+4 and not ATF+4. I was a tiny bit worried about that one. And they did make me pay a deductable.

Ok here's something strange happening. When I turn the key on with the engine off. The Jeep goes through its normal check the dash lights sequence and then the check engine light flashes 11 times. I made a video of it but I'm at work and I'll post later. In the mean time anyone know what it is? It has never done that before.
