Has anyone installed any gauges in there pat before? I normally always have gauges in my cars as i just like to know what my motor and stuff is doing. Right now i am looking at installing this pod on top of the dash right above the 2 center vents. the size will fit nice left to right and it is less than 3 inches tall so will not block the windshield at all. Here is a pic of what i am looking at. wish it had black face but maybe then i wil have to change the dash gauges to white to match.

side note here is the one i made out of fiberglass for my fusion (car i traded in on the patriot)

Scangauge II in my Patriot. On the '07s and '08s there was a cubby right below the radio that it fits perfectly into. Not sure where to put it in an '09 or '10.

Good for many gauges (choose 4 to display) - I usually have Inlet Air Temp, Water Temp, Instantaneous MPG, and Average Trip MPG up on the display

Scan tool for OBDII codes

Plugs into the OBDII port.

As much as I like the Scangauge, It really isn't cool, like real dial gauges on the dash. There's a blast from the past....being able to order the gauge package as an option. How long has it been since that was possible? Slaterracing, I like that gauge cluster. It should fit in pretty well. I have no idea how to tell you to hook it up though. All the vehicles I've added gauges to are 30 years old or older. In other words, the process didn't start with trying to identify which big plastic thing under the hood was the engine. ;)

I've pondered the gauge issue as well. The thought crossed my mind of mounting a voltmeter and an oil pressure/temperature gauge in the round, center HVAC outlets in the dash. I don't use them for heat and I seldom run AC as I still like open windows. I'm guessing I'll never do it though, just considering options.

I have been thinking about a volt meter for a while. Hadn't really gotten much further than that in my planning though.

Somehow, I haven't been giving the ScanGauge the attention it deserves. Perhaps because conversations regarding it have pretty much revolved around fuel consumption. Now that I look at it, there is plenty more that can be done with it - including the volt meter issue. Granted though, an analog meter would look nicer... On the other hand, the ability to clear at least some fault codes would be nice.

Yea, fuel economy aside, there is a ton of vehicle information the ScanGauge II can show (volts, intake air temp, coolant temp, tps readings, etc, etc). There isn't an oil pressure gauge standard, but with X-Gauge programming, I suppose it could be possible to make one provided the ECM/PCM serves it up. I have a brake horse power X-Gauge, and O2 sensor X-Gauges programmed in on mine. The ability to pull any OBDII codes and clear them is huge. I've already used it on about a dozen cars or so. It's an awesome tool for the modern day DIY mechanic.

I'd love to have some A Pillar gauges...specifically I'd like to have a transmission temp gauge...but seeing as I'm not a Jeep mechanic and I don't have endless time or money, I'm not sure it will ever happen...
