Oil change at the dealer yesterday. Still no real issues at 58k miles.

Checked our MPGs after some muddy off-roading and to-and-fro 30 miles, seems we only managed 18.6 mpg so I thought I'd talk to the dealer about doing the CVT update, they had always said it didn't need it or they didn't no anything about it. Well now that we are out of warranty it will cost $65.
It's a Jeep bulletin why hadn't they just done it without me asking or denying it?

Another service manager I've never seen before.

Eh, maybe next time.:D

Technically...yesterday.

Stopped by some rim shops. Got some prices, looked at some rims in person. Got an idea of what I want.

Ouchy. Got into a accident, and got a ticket for "careless driving" even though I hydroplaned. The highway patrol guy that responded definitely had something against me, as soon as he got out of his car he was already pissed off at me, and his tone of voice between me and the person I hit were completely different.

Anywho, I now have a reason to buy the euro bumper!

It's alright. 4 years, and the first accident. Not bad if I do say so myself. Car is going in for damage inspection tomorrow, and they are also doing a quote for the insurance. Once that's all cleared, a family friend is letting us purchase all the parts through him via his car lot so everything will be at cost. The euro bumper will be mine!

Sorry Creation! I hate to hear that.

Are your Tail lights Darkened ? Was the Officer a Man of Color ? Anyhow, Bummer .

Yeah, my taillights are darkened. And the officer was white. I wasn't rude to him, all my responses were yes sir, no sir, thank you sir, etc. He just really didn't like me.

Anyways, I'm ready for my new bumper, and lowering springs should be in my possession the second week of august. Then from then on, I'll be broke for awhile. I wasn't expecting to have to do my bumper, or this $200 ticket.

Funny thing about street racing, yesterday I was at a import meet selling stickers, and we had the cops called on us. A race went down between a boosted blue eclipse, and a boosted black Civic, and whoever phoned 911 said it was a blue suv racing. Funny enough, I was the only blue SUV in the parking lot and was questioned. All these stickers allow me to keep up with people shooting 20psi of boost.

that sucks Creation! Can't wait to see your euro bumper though! When are you ordering it?

Taking the car in for inspection tomorrow, so once the insurance check comes, I'll order it. We checked a month ago, and there was 1 within a 1000 mile radius and it was like 60 miles away. So, if they still have it I may go pick it up in person.

ETA, i'd say should be less than 2 weeks if all goes well. I don't know how fast our insurance company works.

^I'M sure it will still be there in a couple weeks, The demand probably isn't too high. Today I dipped my last badge on the jeep (the front" Jeep") The only chrome left now is "riot" on both sides and the star on my wheels and the calipers :) It's looking MURDERED!

Too bad you don't run a dash cam...you could have entertained us.

Cool Story Time:
I live in a climate zone called Temperate Rain Forest.
As you can imagine it rains up here a lot, especially October thru March.
All our roads, ditches, infrastructure are designed to handle the rain.

But I had friends up from the US, two from N Carolina, one from California and another from Colorado... fly fishermen and women.

so, I load them into my XL7 and start the hour drive up to where we meet the guides on Campbell River, a World Heritage River and renowned world wide for its fly fishing of salmon. These folks are used to brook trout, browns, etc. What we call bait.

It starts to rain a little. And I mean a little. (for here) I'm booming along doing 100 kph and getting passed by logging trucks, highway trucks, some other cars...speed limit is 110 kph.

Spray, road is covered in rain, more spray, wipers are sort of keeping up...

I have never seen more worried and tense passengers than this crew...honestly they were freaking out. I knew it didn't rain much in California but NC? Colorado?

It was like they had never driven in rain before.

I found it amusing.

$1,300 is the repair quote.
They want $600 alone for labor but all they are replacing is the bumper. It takes me an hour to pull my bumper, fix some wiring and replace it. I wish I could make $600 an hour!
