if you are spraying enough to see brown my thoughts are you are too heavy with it.

Yes, it clears up some.

It smells like I would imagine a wet sheep would smell...I don't mind it but its not air freshener by any means, is it?

Brown eh? Mine sprayed sort of yellow/white, like lithium grease. Or maybe I'm thinking of when I sprayed lithium grease...

Had to hit the brakes really hard for the first time...
The pat seemed to go into some sort of safe mode afterwards. I was in drive but when I took my foot off of the brakes wouldn't move without gas. And when I hit the gas it felt like low gear until I got back up to about 15 mph. Then all went back to normal.

Am I right to assume this is some sort of accident safety feature?

I do not know about a safe mode after a significant braking event but I do know that if you are braking hard, lift off even a fraction and then climb back onto the brakes the computer gives you a hand with the brakes.

I'm no track racer using threshold braking all the time but I have both been driven around by those guys and had some practice day track time in a past life so I am aware of how fast and hard a prepped car can haul you down...the Patriot is very impressive considering OEM rotors, calipers, lines and fluid.

Both impressive and a "what the bleep is that!" moment the first time it happens to you.

Everyone should play with it once, to see. Find a empty road, get going around 50 mph, hit the brakes hard...to the point of engaging the ABS, lift for a fraction and hit the brake pedal again...all in the first few seconds of stopping.

I think you might be impressed too.
