Hey, Just got here. i have a 2009 Patriot and it seems I have lost power to my wheels trying to get out of the snow. never happened before. It shifts and all, put it in 4 wheel and 2 wheel but no power? anyone?

Suggestion: turn off the ESC. The ESC will brake a spinning wheel and that may account for your loss of power.

ESC is a safety device so you should keep it on under normal circumstances, but if you're stuck the ESC might be working against you.

PS, Welcome!

As Ignatz mentioned the ESP could be kicking in to try to stop a spinning wheel.

The traction control activation light looks like a car on top of skid marks/snakes (see bottom center of pic below). If you see this light flash at the time you were losing power to the wheels, then turning of the ESP might help.

The button that controls the ESP is on the switch bank below the HVAC controls (car on skid marks/snakes, second pic below). Press and release turns ESP partially off, press and hold for 10 seconds turns ESP completely off.
