Looks like mice decided to make their home there. Did you look around to see if some of your sound deadener is missing: hood, firewall, fenders, etc.

My Caravan used to sit outdoors 24/7. When I removed the speedometer bezel behind the steering wheel to replace a light bulb, I found the beginnings of a mouse nest made from kleenex tissue. Go figure.

Keep an eye on your engine for symptoms of hantavirus.

Thanks folks , the best was to the right of the oil breather sponge. After some close inspection I spotted some acorn shells so a mouse habitat was good call. The dog is Milo he’s always by my side.

No, that does not belong there. You have reached the same conclusion I would offer.

I suggest that you either teach Milo to catch mice or get a cat.

Some years ago I put a car in storage for the winter. Being pro-active, I put some poison in with it. Don't you know come spring I found the poison stashed all over the car. :(
