Just purchased this Jeep with 80K. Will use it strictly for my Rural mail route. I’m a substitute driver so will only need it a couple times a week. It needs new tires but other than that seems sound. It’s got 205’s on it but I downloaded the build sheet and it originally came with 215’s so that’s what I’m getting. This is my first Jeep and I really enjoy the look and feel of it. Any advice or tips would be appreciated.

Hi, welcome!

Which model do you have? FWD? FDI? FDII? Manual or Auto?

If it's an automatic, I'd look into getting the CVT fluid and filters changed if it hasn't been done recently and change it every 30-50k depending on use.

Automatic for any pre-2014 Patriot is actually a JATCO JF110E.

Officially you don't need a transmission cooler to make the tow rating 2000 pounds instead of the standard 1000, but the CVT requires a bit extra TLC, so absolutely a wise idea. Mine's been waiting for somebody willing and able to figure a way to install it for at least two years now. Here's a few more links you'll hopefully find helpful for the CVT:

This should help with questions about spark plug gap, fluid fill level, cylinder number and firing order, etc.: https://www.amazon.com/Jeep-Patriot.../ref=sr_1_1?keywords=haynes+manual+jeep+patriot&qid=1554779493&s=gateway&sr=8-1

And, if you need any extra cooling, these could be a bit of a help(I run them on my own): https://www.rocky-road.com/louver.html
