235/70 16 will be next on my 2012

I'm not sure if anyone is still looking for this, but I just put 235/70/16s on my non-lifted 2010 Patriot Sport, stock wheels. Very slight rub on right side when wheel is turned full lock to the right. Other than that, perfect fit.

Thanks for the post I knew I should've gone bigger lol. I will be going this route next 235/70 on my 2012 may go with Dynapro ATM's or the General grabbers not sure. I have only 10k on my hercules Terra trac AT IIs and they look flawless still.

245/75/16 was done by a memeber years ago, I can't remember if it was with spacers or not. The issue is tire weight, tires in that size are very heavy and would kill your gas mileage and performance/handling as well.

Tire Size.

Hi, i have a 2012 Jeep Patriot 4x4 with 205/70/16 Goodyear LS2 tires a standard. Im on a budget but i've been able to find Bridgestone Ecopia EP422 All Season tires for $469 all in! The only issue is...they are 215/65/16. I've been told by Jeep that they should be ok to fit but that the speedo might be out by 1-2mph.

What do you guys think? Will these tires be ok for my Patriot? Thanks.

I just slapped 245/75/16 BFG KO2's Slight rubb on inside wheel well near the firewall but not that noticeable. Had to Hammer in the pinch weld, additionally I have the StuCoils installed. I also went with lighter and offset wheels to compensate for both weight and not having to use spacers. I also contacted Tom from 4Wheel parts in Temecula to see if I needed to regear he stated no just slight rubbing is what I had to deal with. To all of you that say they dont fit or wont look good, I say stop hating and peep the profile! I love this look!

Ditto Mike Flea. I use that size for my snow tires. The difference in size is miniscule. I've got to be up in the 50mph range before there is a noticeable difference between the speedometer and my Garmin.

I have a 2012 Jeep Patriot Sport 16". Currently wanting to change the tires. I have the stock P205 70r16. Was wondering if p215 70r16's would work with no issues?? I don't want to purchase before I know if they will fit properly :/.

I've had that size on my Patriot. There is very little difference. No rubbing issues.
There will be a slight speedometer error -- you'll be going a few % faster than the speedometer says. I have a Garmin and it shows my speed. At 60mph on the dashboard, I was really doing 62mph according to Garmin.

If you google "tire size calculator" there are several websites that will show you the difference in size. Might be helpful.

check my post, #66 above, click on the webpage, and you can compare tire sizes, and it will give you the information for mph change

Yesterday I put 235/70r16 Cooper Adventurer AT tires on my stock 16" steelies, 2014 Patriot FDI Sport 4X4. Slight rubbing when wheels are fully turned but I gave the tire shop permission to cut the inside fender well which they gladly did. I have a bunch of tools in the back and two adults inside, no rubbing going over speed bumps or with heavy breaking. I plan on making a video later to show the results. I will post a link.

Quick glance review:

No lift.
No spacers.
235/70r16 slight inside fender rubbing when turned, cut out to fit perfectly.
Will make video later.
