will a 215/70/16 tire fit a 215/60R17 rim?

I currently have 215/60R17 all season tires on alloy wheels that came with the car from new on a 2011 jeep patriot north; I would like to fit 215/70R16 cooper AT3 4S all terrain tires, will they fit? I want to buy the tires online and have them fitted locally.
Thanks in advance for any replies.

No, tires for 16" rims (215/70R16) won't fit on the 17" rims you have.

what sizes will fit the 17 inch rims on a 2011 patriot? I know the 215/60R17 and 215/65R17 will fit, is there any other sizes?
