Tone inside for brake wear on my 2015.

This may sound strange, but I am getting a tone inside the car, similar to any of the other warning tones, lights on, seatbelt not fastened, door not closed etc. As I am driving down the road it always happens when I put on the brake coming up to a stop sign or to slow down in traffic. My brakes DO need to be changed, plan on it this weekend, but I have never heard of a brake wear warning tone INSIDE the vehicle. Has anyone else encountered this phenomenon?

AFAIK, there is no electronic warning chime for low brake pads in Patriots or any other cars (but I could always be wrong). I do know though, that the Patriot will make a single chime when you try to "turn on" a light that is no longer working, whether it be a bad bulb, or a bad socket.

Last year I started hearing a chime when I hit the brakes. I went and replaced all of my rear bulbs, figuring if one burned out the others probably would soon. Still got the chime when hitting the brakes. Turned out to be a bad bulb socket in the left tail light.
