Once i get my rro put on and my new tires, 225 75 16, im thinking of getting some wheel spacers. something like 1 inch or 1.5 inch. i hear that if you go too big with your spacers you can damage something? not sure what but i want the biggest i can go

I don't know that I would go with 1.5" spacers...that's pretty big in wheel spacer terms. Even 1" is pretty big. Whichever you choose though, make sure they are hub centric style spacers.

it widens the gap on the inside, so sometime you can get a wider tire with a semi negative offset(towards the inside of tire) some if you can get the right off set you can put more aggressive tire.

however this places more stress on the cvt joints and arms, and with an already normaly fwd vehicle its kinda risky. that's why in some states their illegal.

you can go up to 1.5 without any problems.
1.25 is the best choice.
stability of the vehicle on the road improves a lot.
i'm using them for a year and no probs.
i have a friend using them for years and no probs.

true.
if you don't go to crazy tire sizes.
i run 235/55/17 that have the same diameter as 215/60/17 stock wheels.
so no probs with speed reading a.s.o.
you will drive a more comfortable vehicle and will definitely have more room for chains.
if you decide buy ONLY HUBCENTRIC.
they are the only ones abling you to center the wheel properly so you don't get vibrations.
don't get the off road non hub centric ones.

at 1" it's not just a little disc.its quite thick.
the problem is that with the patriot i think you can't go below 1.25 because the bolts will come through and the wheel won't fit all the way.
they look like this:http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=816201

the hub centric ones have a ring on the interior, that makes your wheel center itself around it and also makes the spacer center itself on your original hub.
the non hubcentric just have a hole.
