I put the stubby on mine as soon as I got it. Same reception in most places, but I live about 30 min. West of Madison. Inside cities the reception stays the same, but get out in the country at all, and its mostly static.

Not sure about your radio though, sorry. Im getting a mygig sometime this Winter im thinking. Hopefully that doesnt change my reception.

 

I have one but my reception is definitely poorer than before especially in the mountains but I don't listen to the radio much

 

I am 30 miles from Chicago. So reception is always good. With the stock antenna sitting in my driveway all of my stations come in clearly. Put on the stubby and 6 out of 8 are just static. I usually listen to stuff on my phone or XM app on my phone.

 

I use an 14" (so not exactly "stubby") antenna, but I get pretty good reception, especially with all of the HD Radio stations with my Alpine head unit.
