A question for folks with a manual transmission or others who might know:

My 2014 Sport with Manual transmission has an LED display under the tacometer and another one under the Speedometer.

The display under the tac has the odometer/tripmeter/temp as well as the 4x4 indicator when 4x4 is locked.

Nothing is displayed in the display under the Speedometer.

I stalled this moring when starting from a stop at the bottom of a highway exit ramp and noted that nothing special lit up in either of the 2 led displays.

I could not tell at first that I had stalled because the engine idles very smoothly and there was ambiant nose caused by morning traffic and the proximity to the highway. There was no indication on the dashboard display to indicate the engine had stopped. On other vehicles I have driven, when the engine stalls all sorts of dummy lights illuminate.

I have only had the vehicle for a couple of days so this is a headcheck to find out if the lack of dummy lights coming on are an issue or if this is normal and I am just not familiar with it yet.

You certainly should have seen the alternator/low voltage light (#2) come on as well as the oil pressure indicator (#4) when it stalled. Next time you're going to drive it, turn the key to the on position (but don't turn it to the start position) and note some of the lights on the dash. Make sure they are working.

You can watch the tach, It helps since the engine is quiet you can see your rpms to make sure you don't stall and if you do it will go to 0.

One Thing to note the Manual has hill start assist so the brakes will hold you bake a little if you take off quickly. Once you get your timing right this will not be an issue, it can be disabled also.

I did what you suggested....turned off the vehicle, turn the key to on, I did not see any lights until I turned the key to start the vehicle and then an array of dash lights came on for a brief moment when starting the vehicle. This does not happen when starting the vehicle from a stall unless I turn the key to the off position first....but no lights come on after the stall occurs.

diagram you attached shows an analogue odometer with temperature and a compass in the left gauge under the speedometer. My odometer is digital and is under the right hand gauge (tacometer) and the button that when held resets the tripmeters also changes what is displayed as follows with each press of the button:
odometer > tripmeter A > tripmeter B > ambient temperature > odometer

I've stalled my Patriot (Sport 4x2 Manual) more times than i care to admit... I never hear a chime or anything. About the only light I can recall seeing on the dash will be the oil pressure light.

As for your gauge cluster, you have the non-EVIC model. It provides basic info only. The one in the picture is the EVIC model, which is equipped on Limited, Latitude, and all other models, and provides extra information. You cannot swap the EVIC cluster into a non-EVIC vehicle.

To be succinct, you don't HAVE a display under your speedometer. If you had EVIC, that's where your display would be... but you don't, so all you have is black plastic. There's not even an LCD display hidden under there.

EVIC is described in your owner's manual, but basically it just provides extra information to the driver (tire pressures, compass bearing, temperature, radio information, etc.)

You (and I) will never see any information displayed there, because we don't have the EVIC-equipped computer in our Patriots (nor the dash cluster with the EVIC display built in). For us, it's just flat black plastic covering nothing.

That said, even the display under the tachometer, also, will not indicate anything when your engine stalls. It can show some messages (like, when the rear hatch or a door are open, or when you need your oil changed), but it's very limited in what information is provided to you. When your engine stalls, some of the lights will come on scattered across the rest of the gauge cluster, but nothing will be indicated on the display under your tach. It would certainly be nice if it said "STALL" or something, but no, it won't.

I hope this is clear enough without being condescending. I know it can be frustrating to expect certain features on a newer car and find out you don't have them. I sincerely wish the system would at least tell me WHICH ONE of my tires is low (rather than just a generic "low tire" warning); coincidentally, EVIC-equipped vehicles do this.
