Replaced Throttle Body But Still Having Issues.....

I replaced my throttle body yesterday after months of the throttle light (red lightning bolt) coming on and sending the car into limp mode, restarting, and repeating the process over and over.
Had the check engine light read and it said the throttle body was bad so I replaced it but the issue is persisting (possibly even worse now)

I tried to reboot the throttle based on some info I found here and on youtube (turning the key on, pressing and releasing the gas pedal) and that didn't seem to help.

The check engine light is back so I suppose I should go get the code read and see if its throwing a new code, but I'm frustrated and out of ideas for what could be wrong and what I can do (without just taking it to a shop and spending a fortune)

Any ideas or advice would be much appreciated!

It's possible the replacement throttle body was bad out of the box, it does happen.

You can also try resetting the system by disconnecting the battery cables, touching them together for 10 mins or so to drain the power out of the system, then reconnect the battery and see if that helps.

Before replacing any parts, I would get the codes read again.

You don't have to press the pedal. Just turn the key to ON, wait til lights on the dash do their thing, turn key off and remove key and wait 10 seconds. Turn back to ON and wait for the lightning bolt to go away and start the engine. That's the throttle relearn procedure. As for the check engine light, once you've fixed the throttle body problem. Disconnect your negative terminal only for 5 minutes and it should clear your CE light. If not, you'll have to use an OBD2 scanner to clear it.

On my Chrysler 200, I had throttle body issues, I replaced it and still had issues and a friend helped me change intake manifold gasket but the etc light still appeared and I had to change the pcv valve. All the gaskets were worn and needed replacing but I replaced the pcv valve and throttle body and the gaskets for both and the intake manifold gasket. Hope this helps
