Autumn is the rutting season for mooses and they move a lot especially at dusk and evening. Be carefull on the roads in remote areas where their presence is a known fact. Hitting one of those up to 1000 kg animal can be deadly.

A sister of a friend of mine was involved in such an accident yesterday. Luckily she suffered minor injuries only. Broken bone on top of one eye, black eyes, few cuts. She was able to walk out of the car. She was taken to the hospital center in Quebec city by plane (Here we only have a small hospital. Remote area). She was sent home the next day with painkillers and told to put ice on swollen injuries.

Take a look at her car. It's unbelievable. Top was ripped off by the moose antlers like a can opener. The moose (weight of around 600 kg) passed over the car.

So when you drive in such areas, be on the look out at this time of year even more.

Take care of your life!

Good grief, that must have been quite the collision. Glad to hear that the lady was able to escape without any major injuries.

Yep, it can be pretty scary driving at dusk, or dawn, at this time of the year "in the North".....deer, moose, and even bears are out on the prowl at these times.....

Rortunately no Moose on beach in North Carolina

My daughters have both hit deer (smaller here than the Canadian variety) but only large animal is black bear and they don't seem to like the salt water areas.

Hope all is well and she has no issues due to injury.
