p219a code right after fueling

Right after fueling about ten miles down the road check engine light came on. Engine is running fine. I figured I had left the gas cap loose. I checked the cap and it seemed tight. I drove the rest of the 300 miles home with no problem but with the light still on. I guess my question is does anyone think bad fuel can cause that code.

That error typically means your air to fuel ratio is imbalanced. Here are the main causes:
Engine vacuum leak (large), Defective oxygen sensor/s (Most Common), Burnt, chafed, broken, or disconnected wiring and/or connectors, Engine exhaust leaks, A faulty mass air flow or manifold air pressure sensor, Bad fuel pump, clogged fuel filter

bob1979, can you give us an update on your patriot? If you think it's a gas quality problem just fill up your tank again (after 300 miles) the code should go away. If not try to disconnect your battery for 20 minutes that should reset the computer.

If that doesn't work I would start with the basics: Air filter, spark plugs. Then try replacing Oxygen sensors, maybe check the fuel pressure. It's possible that you pumped some bad fuel and now your fuel pump/filter are clogged .
