Ok, Jeepies, admit it ~ you have a nickname for your baby... now spit it! :p

We're calling ours THE (RED) RIOT! :pepper:

Khaki. I told me 3yr old that the Jeep we were getting is khaki colored and he called it Khaki Jeep from day one, so it stuck. Our other recent vehicles - Honda Minivan (HAL) and Green Saturn (Mara Jade)

I'm going to have to get acquainted with my red Sport before I name her. Dang...Just cannot think of anything right now, but she WILL get a name. It COULD be Red Ryder! Y'know, I kinda like that one! OK, unless something better comes up, Red Ryder it is!

I'm going to wait until I actually have it and give it a name once I know it's personality. My Xj was named Naomi because she was much prettier than my 79 blazer (Ingrid). My gf just bot a Toyota FJ and named it Lurch, it fits pretty well, I want to make sure the name matches my Pat.

Since my wife steals it all the time, my older kids always stop and question her stating, "Are you taking Daddy's Jeep again?" And my 3 year always calls it "DaDa's Jeep".

My youngest daughter calls it Clyde, my youngest son calls it The Box whilst the rest of the family usually just calls it the Jeep or the Patriot. Our Durango is named "Heavy D."

Riot Grrl, when we were getting a dog , which I didn't want, I asked my wife if I can at least pick the breed since she just liked almost any dog. She said, "I guess you can pick as long as it isn't a boarder collie because they're crazy dogs!" Well, I have always wanted a boarder collie, and after being thwarted on that choice went for an Australian shepherd. I think that was a nice compromise since he is still a working dog and he is not too crazy. Those Ausies have some strange mannerisms though.

SMJ - you should look into getting the air deflector/bug shield. I think it looks VERY sharp on my steel blue Pat and have noticed a definitie drop on the amount of bug splats on my front windshield. If you're talking about the actual grill, well i can't help ya there - I stil lhave a HUGE butterfly trapped behind the 2nd slat that I couldn't get off whilst washing for the life of me.

Ok, here it goes... (could not find a name)

When I first got it I did call in Pat's - riot.. but then I thought it should not be the same as my screen name..

it is now Plastik Fantastik..
why, I am amazed at how much firm plastic is in the interior and how well it holds up when I throw a lot of stuff in there to carry around....very utilitarian like tupperware or legos.. ;)

I'm going to wait for my Pat to arrive before naming it.

Every car of mine has had a name.

I think I might let the gang from work name the Pat by committee. :)

I was just thinking about the Inferno Red..."Testarossa" would be a good name. It means "Red Head" in Italian, so I might just have a Jeep Testarossa! That'll show those Ferrari guys! Let em' try to follow me across those sand dunes!;)

I won't be in the market for a new vehicle until around February, but the name circling around my brain in association with the Patriot is "The Brick." That said, car names are typically reserved for older vehicles (e.g., > 10 years) around here...or at least, among my friends and family. It doesn't seem right to name the Pat right away.

On a side note, after nearly driving my Mom batty talking ad nauseam about what vehicles I was/am thinking of buying, I finally took her to the dealership a couple of months ago so she could see a Pat for herself. Her response: "It looks like something you go to war with." Heh.
