While it is the exact same test mule we have seen before, what I find odd is that it appears to have the seven slot grill and black and white swirly camo paint underneath the black covering. I sure hope they aren't serious about that front end and headlights... maybe that's back from when they were planning to replace the Compass and axe the Patriot....

I was just going to say the same thing! I don't think they know what they are looking at to be honest.

Bring back Pontiac in general just not the Aztec sorry lol
I had an old firebird and would love to see a new one. Doesn't look promising at all that we'll ever see another :-/

I'm one of those strange people who like the aztek. Not the looks, but it was ahead of it's time and I believe I would be safe to that the Aztek was the first crossover. Sure it is probably one of the biggest reasons for the death of pontiac, but the Aztek carried very high consumer satisfaction index scores. Also it had some great APEAL scores from JD Power (except for exterior style).

They're running the current generation for just a bit longer, but there will be a new generation on a new platform then.

As for the test mule...Take a closer look at those grills...the designs will be similar to the mules. Think about the direction they went with on the Compass and Grand Cherokee bodies= more curves  (appears the Wrangler will be the last resort for Jeep's classic iconic style)

Comparison of the Liberty and Patriot mules I posted 3 months ago... just for reference and side by side photos: http://www.jeeppatriot.com/forum/showthread.php?p=379063

Today I saw Car and Driver came out with photo's of the Jeep Liberty mule, which looks very much the same as the Patriot mule, except bigger. It's nice to see the test mule sporting Yokohama Geolanders. Now I'm just wondering what it will actually look like. The Liberty photo's show an intercooler for a turbo, and has a sticker on the side of the fuel filler door that says "Premium," which they are saying indicates a turbo

I'm glad they're going to keep the Patriot around for a little longer. It might not be the most popular model Jeep's ever produced, but it's up there. A lot more popular than the Compasses (that I've noticed anyway). And I could see where they're going with the Liberty/Patriot looking similar. Kinda like how the new Compass' front end looks very similar to the new GC's. I for one actually like how the GC's look (someone a little while back commented about their looks being too rounded I believe), thats the direction that the GC's have been going and it fits that Jeep. But for the Patriot and Liberty? I dont think so. If anything, the body's of both vehicles could just use a little beefing up. A diesel model for the Patriot at least would be nice but we all know how American car manufacturers love to produce diesel's in things not truck related :|

I agree with all the above comments...that's gotta be the ugliest test mule for a jeep EVER :|
