Hey guys, my name is rob and i just bought a 2013 Jeep patriot! very excited, pick her up in 2 days. Got it used with 20k miles on it.

I have a few questions though.

1 It is only 2wd and i was wondering how the off-road performance on the 2wd patriots is? I originally was looking for a 4x4 but this 4x2 was a really good price.
Would off road tires help?

2 How is the base sound system in these patriots? I didnt test out the sound in it and was just wondering, would adding a subwoofer be viable in these?

Thanks Guys really look forward to these forums, this is my first vehical (only 19) so im really excited!

Also how do you guys like your jeeps? id love to know!

Welcome!

a guy who still posts on here every now that then had a 2wd patriot, his screen name is FailWheelDrive. he did a lot with his FWD patriot.

Off road tires will help for sure, so will adding a lift, learning how to drive off road and knowing your limits are a big must do.

but a 2wd vehicle, will never take you as far as a 4x4...

Thanks!

I have actually been browsing the forums and looked at some of FWD's pictures. Its great to know the 4x2 is still capable of having some fun!

Can you tell me how the stock car speakers are in your patriot?

Just ordered some rockford fosgate speakers just now! Was looking at the kenwoods and some other brands, my cousin has the same speakers in his truck and they rock so I picked them up.

A little side question... Would you guys recommend keeping the stock receiver in? or throw in a head unit, because i have a brand new kenwood head unit i never ended up using. What would i need to install it?

If you only need a little extra bump I recommend a Kicker Hideaway sub under one of the front seats. It's small and rocks an 8" Aluminum woofer, and 150 watt amp in a sleek package.

If you need more then go for a slim 10" box under the seat with the amp under the other seat or put it all in the rear cargo area. I love how two 10"s hit in a good box but I didn't want a giant setup in my Jeep. I like simple and discreet now.

Thanks everyone! Picked up the Patriot yesturday, didnt have much time to enjoy the ride because i was 20 minutes late for work after picking it up. But after my shift I took a nice slow ride home and i got to tell you, I Love the patriot! Had time to look at all the interior and i love the illumination, it doesnt have the most power in the world (coming from my moms 275 hp car, which i have been driving) but its nice and smooth! This is my first car and i love it! I now have the nicest car in the family :D

ps: going to post pics soon!
