I'm interested in this system. However, it must be user friendly, either with touch screen or voice commands.

For instance, Acura offers a touch screen or joystick or voice activated navigation system that is incredibly easy to use/program. Say your address and it inputs into the system. Punching in with touch screen isn't too bad either.

However, Mazda uses a joystick, which means that each time you want to enter a destination you have to navigate to the numbers/letters you want and push enter. ie *go to #1*. push enter. move cursor to #2. push enter. etc. It is incredibly slow and very annoying, just to enter your destination. Bottom line, I would buy the Acura or Infiniti system in a second while I'd pass on the worthless Mazda system.

Here's hoping the Jeep/DCX system works more like those two and not like the Mazda. I don't need it so much for myself, but the sig-other I swear is directionally retarded.

If the nav system for the patriot will be the same as the one in the commander/GC, I would suggest looking at an aftermarket one. We have had one for a little over a year and I really don't like it. It isn't easy to use, no touch screen, no voice commands, the annual database updates (which you don't need, but are nice) are $200, you can't back-up or sync your locations in anyway, and it's really hard to mark a position. But the worst thing is that it locks out the most useful features when the car is moving. So if you need a re-route on a road trip the passenger can't even access anything - you have to pull over and come to a complete stop.
I'm looking at the Garmin Nuvi 680. It has a touch screen, traffic, weather, built-in bluetooth (so you don't need Uconnect.) and lots of different database choices for about $60-70 for updates. It has way more useful features. You can move it to other cars, take it on a trip for a rental car, or sell it and get a different model easily. Plus it's cheaper than the Jeep nav package. The only problem is it isn't as clean of an installation - but maybe a car audio place can do a nice job.
