So Yesterday was the first time I took my Liberty wheeling... I had high expectations and ended up getting pretty embarrassed. I don't think it was the Liberty's fault, if I had better tires it would've done a lot better. Also the fact that I was taking on something more challenging than a beginner should do.

So I went with a group of people, two Cherokees, two YJs, and one TJ. I was told later that the TJ's 4wd didn't work so she was doing it all in 2wd. That's a confidence booster.

So we hit the trails and there is several deep mud pits where I'd surely get stuck. I passed by them on the side at an angle. I was pretty sure at one moment i was going to roll over. Made it through that and came upon a creek crossing. At the other end of the creek crossing was a steep and muddy hill. I put it in 4lo and launched it. I got almost to the top, but time after time my wheels started to spin.

After maybe 10 minutes worth of trying I gave up and turned around. I felt defeated but I'm sure after I get better tires.. It wont be an issue. I'm going to see if I can post the video for everyone to see.

Hahaha do it bro don't beat on the nice Libby when you can have a beater Cherokee :p

My wife may have created a monster... She said.. Why wheel your liberty? Why not get a Cherokee so you can not worry about messing it up on the trails...

Dang I married the right woman... haha :)
What?? you've got yourself a keeper for sure, that is a very intelligent thing to say!! :)

Man that thing is sharp! Just needs better tires! :p

Yeah, I was looking on CL to see if I could find some cheaper tires in the mean time.. No Luck.. But if I wanted to keep these tires, I could find some for a steal of a deal.. Jeep puts these tires on the Wrangler too and everyone takes them off.. I could get an almost brand new set for 200 bucks.

Im really looking at either the General Grabbers or Wrangler Silent Armors.. I wish I could afford the Duratracs.

Whats the largest size tire you can run? Check out Treadwright tires. They're retreads but really great tires. I was going to get them in a 265/70/R17 (32s) but then I decided that I wanted to just bite the bullet and get 33s. Their 33's are a bit more than the Falkens I can get from Discount Tire Direct. I can understand the need to price those larger tires a bit higher because it probably costs them quite a bit to make those bigger tires.
