Well, after having been a member here for a while and enjoying my wife's 2014 Pat Lat 4x4 since last June, I just returned from our dealership after having finally placed my long-awaited order for my own 2014 Patriot Latitude 4x4:

Granite Crystal Metallic Clear;
Dark Slate Grey interior;
Freedom Drive II Off-Road Group;
Smoker's Group (don't smoke, but I love the ashtray option);
Trailer Tow Prep Group;
Premium Sound Group;
Security and Cargo Convenience Group;
Engine Block Heater;
Remote Start System.

Tax, title, tags, prep, out the door for $26K.

The wait is on for the Vehicle Order Number...

Outstanding. I think the wait for the VON is going to be more nerve wracking than anything. The wait on delivery won't be too bad knowing that I'm setting back the first financing payment a few weeks to 60 days down the road from when it arrives.

I'm hoping to be at the dealership when the transporter rolls in with mine for offload. :pepper:

I was pleasantly surprised when we ordered our Pat in April that I could still haggle a good amount. Nothing compared to buying last years model off the lot, but I still worked out an excellent deal.

I spent a ton of time on the computer and literally bought my Pat over the telephone. I had already test drove one locally. I determined exactly what I wanted and put together a price. I then visited a BUNCH of dealer sites within a 200 mile radius to get an idea of what was available. I then started calling about a half dozen to start to get a feel how serious and "negotiable" each was. On my final attempt, I was shocked when I asked one dealer if she could get me "out the door" for $500 LESS than what I already considered to be a good deal. She called back a few minutes later and said yes! This was near the start of the 2014 model year, even more unusual for them to haggle.

Remember, besides the public rebates, dealers also get unadvertised factory incentives that allows them to sell some vehicles below invoice and still make money.

Did you try to use USAA's car buying program. I used it when I got my Patriot. Took about 5 minutes on line to state what I wanted option wise. Long story short, I got mine for over $4000 under MSRP with no hassles at all. 5 minutes on line and maybe 20 minutes on the phone with a dealer who responded. Then I went in, did the paperwork and left with my jeep. Easiest purchase ever and a better price than I think I would have negotiated myself.

Thanks for this JeepCares. Although I am aware of the differences between the two numbers, my concern is knowing that the dealer has actually processed my order with JEEP and done so exactly the way we agreed - I keep worrying about things like a missed option group or such. Once the order's in, I feel the VIN and production will happen no matter.

I didn't debate the rustproofing, but did have a tiny bit of buyer's remorse after having my Jeep Krowned last July. The material seemed too thin to do any good and I questioned its durability on the exposed areas. In November, while rotating the tires, I swiped my finger on the undercarriage and a thin film of oily goo wiped off. I was pleased to see that it was still on there.

This winter, with over 8 weeks of constantly salty roads, I feel good about having the rust proofing done. It's the rust that starts from the inside in the weld seams that I hate the most.

In New York, CarWell rustproofing has a great reputation.

Received the Confirmation e-mail from Jeep with Tracking Number (VIN)!!! Logged on to the Jeep site, watched a nice intro video from Jim Morrison, then saw that my Patriot is in second stage of eight stages, "Production Scheduled." The site also listed all the Option Groups I ordered so I know my dealership got everything right. (Anyone know what "Customer Preferred Package 28B" means?) This is all simply far too cool!

I agree this is all new to me too since the last time I ordered a new vehicle was 10 years ago and have never heard of this before...I ordered my 2014 latitude 4x4 on 2/22/14 and received my email 3 days later and mine is still in "prod scheduled also" and I also am glad all my options are correctly listed and my package is a 2GB......Can't wait to get her!

Not sure what 28B is, but I remember 4 years ago 26D was crank windows, manual locks, mirrors, and seats, Freedom Drive 1 with CVT, no sunroof, basic stereo with a speaker in each door, and cloth seats. No cruise control. I was happy mine came with optional 17" tire and wheel group, though.

I just received another e-mail update today from Jeep informing me that "[my] Jeep is now scheduled for production...[and] may reside in this status for up to two weeks as the production line is prepared for assembly." It then goes on to read, "We will contact you next when your vehicle moves to frame status. At that point, you can anticipate your vehicle will move quickly through the next few stages of build." Outstanding! Take your time guys and get it right.

I got my email like yours word for word about a week ago......And I did not see anything about remote start when I ordered mine at the dealer so I guess me and you will see if JeepCares is right or not about it being included!

My wife bought hers last June off the lot and yes, her 2014 Patriot Latitude 4x4, was equipped with remote start. Hers featured the Customer Preferred Package 2GB: "6-Speed Automatic Transmission, AutoStick(R) Automatic Transmission, and Remote Start."

One thing though, the window sticker on hers stated that her Pat Lat had Hill Start Assist - I've tested this on several severe inclines and it does not hold the vehicle for any time whatsoever. I have read on the Jeep site that Hill Start Assist is featured with the FDII option group. Find out soon enough on mine...

It was my understanding that HSA is indeed a feature for manual and FDII equipped models. Nonetheless, Hill Start Assist is listed on the window sticker for her Pat Lat 4x4 6spd.

Lee, thanks very much for the HSA tech. I actually tried that disable feature a few weeks ago, but got no ESC Activation/Malfunction indicator light whatsoever. One-half turn = 180 degrees, and I tried it a few times, no light indication. I have not mentioned it to the dealer yet, but will when I take hers in for a 5000 mile tire rotation.

I just picked mine up Tuesday (3/4/2014). If you ordered a Latitude edition there will be remote start, that's part of the package. The remote start is very nice :)

From my experience, make sure when you get it home (or if you have time, before you leave the dealership) to check over everything and make sure it's all there. I ordered mine with the sun/sound group, and with the Uconnect 430/RBZ, and it was my understanding that there were 2 USB ports, one on the faceplate, and the other in the glove box. I am missing the one in the glove box.

As far as negotiating, (and I hope this doesn't happen to you) since mine took 14 weeks, which was 4 weeks longer than the longest estimated time of 6-8 weeks, they threw in an extra year of free oil changes, and a couple baseball hats lol.
Other than the slight hiccups in my process, I LOVE my Patriot, and I hope your process is smoother, because I know you will love it as well!
